progresifjaya.co.id, BALI – The Polri reaffirmed its commitment to implementing the three main priorities in security and law enforcement mandated by President Prabowo Subianto: eradicating narcotics, smuggling, and online gambling.
This was reiterated by Wakapolri, Komjen Pol Dedi Prasetyo, while representing the Kapolri at the 2nd Joint Committee between the Polri and the Ministry of Interior (MOI) of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at the Bintang Bali Resort Hotel, Kuta, Bali, on Thursday, (30/10).
Wakapolri Dedi also emphasized that these three main focuses have been designated as national priorities to maintain Indonesia’s stability and legal sovereignty.
“The fight against these three major crimes cannot be carried out sectorally. It requires synergy across institutions, both at the national and international levels. The Polri continues to strengthen cooperation with ministries, state institutions, and international partners such as Interpol and the security authorities of friendly countries,” said Wakapolri Dedi in his remarks.
He also explained, that the Polri has achieved significant success in prosecuting narcotics cases. In the recent period, the Polri successfully destroyed various types of narcotics evidence totaling 214,84 tons with an economic value of more than Rp29 trillion.
This step demonstrates the Polri’s support for President Prabowo Subianto’s Asta Cita vision and affirms the government’s commitment to combating drugs as a serious threat to the nation’s future.
The Wakapolri also highlighted the new trend in drug abuse, which is increasingly adapting to technology and modern lifestyles. He explained that the abuse of ketamine, which is inhaled through the nose, and etomidate, mixed in liquid pods, has now become a serious concern for law enforcement officials in Indonesia.

“Through this forum, the Polri wants to reaffirm its determination to continue carrying out President Prabowo Subianto’s mandate to maintain national security, strengthen law enforcement, and protect the nation’s future from narcotics trafficking and the threat of global crime,” stated Wakapolri Dedi.
Meanwhile, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, through Major General Abdullah Bin Abdulrahman Al-Hamad, Head of the Delegation, responded positively to the Wakapolri’s statement. He also emphasized that the memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the two countries covers all potential cross-border threats, including terrorism and transnational crime, including narcotics.
“The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is committed to strengthening strategic coordination with Indonesia to jointly confront the threats of narcotics, extremism, and transnational crime,” said Al-Hamad.
The 2nd Joint Committee meeting of the Polri – Ministry of Interior (MOI) of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is a follow-up to the implementation of the Cooperation Agreement between the Polri and the Ministry of Interior of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It also serves as a strategic forum to strengthen bilateral relations in the areas of security and transnational law enforcement.
In this forum, strengthening international cooperation in research, intelligence, and forensic laboratories was considered a strategic step discussed. The collaboration between the Polri and the Ministry of Home Affairs in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was also considered a crucial opportunity to strengthen coordination in combating narcotics, smuggling, and other transnational crimes.
This meeting also produced Minutes of Meeting (MoM), which outlined concrete steps for implementing bilateral security cooperation between the Polri and the Ministry of Home Affairs in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The MoM agreed that cooperation in narcotics eradication would begin in December 2025, followed by cooperation in other security sectors.
This strategic collaboration is a concrete example of police diplomacy that not only strengthens regional stability but also serves as a model for global synergy in addressing the threat of transnational crime.
