Wakapolri Says Performance of 67 Percent of Polsek in Indonesia Remains Poor

Wakapolri, Komjen Pol Dedi Prasetyo.

progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – There are currently 4.340 police stations in Indonesia. Of these, 2.910, or 67 percent, are still showing poor performance, below performance standards. Furthermore, of the 440 police chiefs assessed, 36 were found to still be performing poorly.

This was stated by Wakapolri, Komjen Pol Dedi Prasetyo, before representatives during a hearing with Commission III of the House of Representatives (DPR RI) at the Parliament Complex, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday, (18/11).

“The results of the Polri’s internal evaluation show that the majority of Kapolsek have not met performance expectations. And almost 50 percent of these Kapolsek’s are officers who graduated from Intergroup Education (PAG),” Wakapolri Dedi explained.

Wakapolri Dedi also expressed a similar sentiment regarding the criminal investigation department. He stated that of the 47 Directors of Criminal Investigation (Dirreskrim), 15 were found to be failing to meet performance standards.

“If they are properly recruited and trained, they will produce good police officers. That’s the approach currently being implemented by the Assistant for Human Resources of the Polri,” said Wakapolri Dedi. (Bembo)
