Mapping Emergency Disaster Response in Aceh, North Sumatera, and West Sumatera, Kapolri Holds Rakor at the North Sumatera National Support Post

progresifjaya.co.id, NORTH TAPANULI — Kapolri, Jenderal Pol Listyo Sigit Prabowo led a coordination meeting (Rakor) with the North Sumatera Provincial Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimda) at the North Sumatera Provincial National Support Post on Sunday, November 30, 2025. The meeting aimed to map out emergency response to the natural disasters that struck the provinces of North Sumatera, Aceh, and West Sumatera.

Starting the meeting, Kapolri Listyo Sigit immediately emphasized the need for all parties to intervene and assist in disaster management.

“In a situation like this, no one can act alone. All elements must act quickly, coordinated, and on target,” he said.

Several strategic decisions were also made immediately during the meeting to address the impacted communities. These included the mobilization of logistics by air and land, the preparation of rescue posts and emergency services, and the establishment of field kitchens and medical services. Furthermore, the zoning system was reactivated to ensure personnel readiness throughout the region.

“We are ensuring a swift response. Residents should not wait too long to receive assistance,” the Kapolri stated.

“Our priority is also to ensure that no one is left out of reach of aid,” he added.

He hopes that this cross-sector synergy will allow aid distribution to reach affected communities more quickly. This will ensure that victims can receive proper care and the recovery process can begin as quickly as possible.

Furthermore, Kapolri Listyo Sigit also urged the public to remain vigilant for potential aftershocks and to continue following official directions from authorized agencies.

In this meeting, the Polda North Sumatera was also instructed by Kapolri Listyo Sigit to establish joint posts in each affected district. He also ensured that communication lines remained active and recorded data on areas that remained isolated.

In response to this instruction, the Kapolda North Sumatera, Irjen Pol Whisnu Hermawan reported that, since November 24, there have been 503 recorded disasters, with the most isolated areas being in Central Tapanuli Regency.

“We have deployed helicopters and logistics trucks to reach 70 isolated areas,” said Kapolda Whisnu.

He added, that 19 Polres precincts have set up field kitchens. Furthermore, 25 SPPGs have been diverted to support the provision of basic community needs.

The meeting was also attended by the Head of the North Sumatera National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas), the Head of the North Sumatera Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), and the Kapolda’s, both in person and virtually. Coordination between the Polri, the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), the BPBD, and the Regional Government continues to be fostered and discussed at this meeting. This includes the implementation of logistics airdrops to hard-to-reach areas and the restoration of communication facilities, electricity, and other basic needs. (Bembo)
