The KKEP Hearing Decides to Dismiss the Charges of Two Police Officers Who Attacked Matel Leading to His Death at the Kalibata Heroes Cemetery

progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – The Polri Public Relations Division announced the results of the Professional Code of Ethics (KKEP) hearing for six members of the Polri Headquarters Yanma personnel involved in the assault on a debt collector, also known as mata elang (matel) in front of the Kalibata Heroes Cemetery (TMP), South Jakarta. The KKEP hearing was held on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. WIB, at the Precision III Building, Polri Headquarters.

Chaniago, accompanied by the Kabaggaketika Rowabprof Professional and Security Division of the Polri, Kombes Pol Hardiono, during a doorstop in the lobby of the Polri Public Relations Division building on Wednesday evening stated, that the results of the KKEP hearing had determined strict administrative sanctions in the form of dishonorable discharge (PTDH) against two Polri officers, Brigadier IAM and Bripda AMZ. Both were proven to have played a dominant role in the incident.
Meanwhile, the other four suspects were given ethical sanctions in the form of statements of disgraceful conduct and the obligation to apologize verbally before the KKEP hearing and in writing to the Polri leadership. They were also subject to administrative sanctions in the form of five-year demotions.
“Today’s KKEP hearing examined and ruled on ethical cases against six alleged violators from the Polri’s Yanma involved in the assault incident in front of the Kalibata Heroes Cemetery. Two were given PTDH, and the other four received five-year demotions,” said Kombes Pol Erdi.
“The Polri doesn’t tolerate violations, regardless of the perpetrator. Every member is obliged to comply with the law, ethics, and applicable regulations. Enforcing this code of ethics is a manifestation of the Polri’s commitment to providing a sense of justice to the public,” he added.
He also explained, that in parallel trials in three courtrooms, led by Brigjen Pol Agus Wijayanto, Karowabprof Professional and Security Division of the Polri, it was revealed that the alleged violators were proven to have jointly committed violence and assault against two officers on Thursday, December 11, 2025. Both victims suffered serious injuries and ultimately died.
The trial also revealed that the suspect who was suspended, Bripda AMZ, was the owner of the vehicle stopped by officers. Bripda AMZ then contacted Brigadier IAM via a WhatsApp group. Brigadier IAM then invited his juniors, Bripda BN, Bripda JLA, Bripda RGW, and Bripda MIAB, to approach Bripda AMZ.
“The actions of the alleged violators violate the professional ethics of the Polri, particularly regarding the prohibition of violence and the obligation to comply with legal norms,” added Kombes Pol Hardiono.
“The violators have appealed all the decisions read out in accordance with applicable regulations,” he added. (Bembo)
