Checkmate Home-Made Gun Syndicate, Polda Metro Jaya Resmob Sub-Directorate Also Dismantles Assembly Warehouse in Sumedang

progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – The Polda Metro Jaya Mobile Investigation (Resmob) Sub-Directorate conducted a checkmate operation against a home-made firearms assembly syndicate in the Cipacing area, Sumedang, West Java. This undercover operation also included the dramatic and tense arrests of five suspects, identified as IM, RA, RR, JS, and SA. They were apprehended in various locations, from minimarket yards to street ambushes. Following this, police moved to dismantle the assembly warehouse, also located in Sumedang, West Java.

From the illegal firearms assembly warehouse, a number of assembled firearms were seized as evidence, ranging from revolvers to long-barreled weapons. They also seized dozens of rounds of ammunition and a drill machine suspected of being used to make the assembled firearms. All of this evidence was publicly displayed during a press conference held at the Polda Metro Jaya Criminal Investigation Directorate Building on Tuesday, January 20, 2026.

Head of Unit 1 of the Polda Metro Jaya Resmob Sub-Directorate, Kompol Dimitri Mahendra explained in his statement, that this silent checkmate operation was carried out by the Polda Metro Jaya Resmob Sub-Directorate in conjunction with the Polda West Java Mobile Brigade Unit.

“We have successfully arrested five suspects for the crime of assembling and trading firearms without a permit. We arrested two suspects recently, IM in Sumedang and RA in Bandung. We arrested three suspects, RT, JS, and SA, on December 16, 2025,” explained Kompol Dimitri Mahendra in his statement. (Bembo)
