progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – Thomas Aquinas Muliatna Djiwandono, better known as Tommy Djiwandono, is confirmed to no longer be registered with the Gerindra Party’s leadership structure. This decision was made at the Gerindra Party National Conference held in October 2025.
As is known, Tommy Djiwandono was previously the General Treasurer of the Gerindra Party.
President Prabowo Subianto’s nephew resigned from the party on December 31, 2025, thus no longer a Gerindra Party member.
“Yes, Mr. Tommy Djiwandono is no longer a party official, nor is he a Gerindra Party cadre. He has resigned from the party leadership,” emphasized Gerindra Party Daily Chair Sufmi Dasco Ahmad at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, January 21, 2026.
Sufmi Dasco also stated, that the inclusion of Tommy’s name in the list of candidates for Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia (BI) didn’t originate from President Prabowo Subianto. The proposal for the Deputy Minister of Finance came solely from the BI Governor and will then undergo a fit and proper test in the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI).
“Essentially, there was a resignation from one of the BI Deputy Governors. As far as I know, the BI Governor then sent a letter to the President. There were three names of replacement candidates who resigned to the President. One of them was Mr. Tommy,” explained the man born on October 7, 1967, who also serves as Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives.
The letter from the Governor of Bank Indonesia was then forwarded by President Prabowo to the DPR for a fit and proper test to determine a replacement for the resigned Deputy Governor.
“So, it’s clear, yah. The proposal for the Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia came from the Governor, not from President Prabowo,” Sufmi Dasco explained again. (Bembo)
