progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – Tomorrow, March 5, 2026, the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) will begin a public hearing on the Draft Law on the Protection of Domestic Workers (RUU PPRT). All stakeholders will be involved because the policy’s deliberations contain a number of sensitive issues.
This was conveyed directly by Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, at the Parliament Complex on Tuesday, March 3, 2026.
“On the 5th, we will begin public hearings for the PPRT, and after Eid al-Fitr, we will also hold public hearings on the Job Creation Law. It addresses several sensitive issues and requires agreement from all parties. So, we will hold them periodically,” explained Sufmi Dasco after receiving a visit from representatives of two major labor confederations, the Confederation of All Indonesian Trade Unions (KSPSI) and the Confederation of All Indonesian Trade Unions (KSBSI).
He stated, that the involvement of various parties is key to ensuring comprehensive deliberations on the bill and producing regulations that are acceptable to all groups. He also ensured that the DPR will provide the widest possible participation for labor unions and employer associations.
“The main focus is to request that all parties be fully involved in the deliberations on the labor law,” he said.
Previously, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad also stated, that deliberations on the RUU PPRT and the revised Manpower Law will resume after the DPR’s recess ends. The DPR is currently in recess until March 9, 2026.
Sufmi Dasco continued, explaining that the RUU PPRT is currently in the process of receiving public participation. This will continue until tomorrow. (Bembo)
