progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – The brutal assault on a civilian named Faisal Amsco, a resident of Langsa City, who was attending a confrontation with his lawyer, RI Marpaung SH, MH, on the second floor of the Special Service Room for the Protection of Women and Children (RPK PPA) of the Directorate of Investigation for the Protection of Women and Children and Human Trafficking (Ditres PPA-PPO) at the Polda Metro Jaya on Wednesday afternoon, March 26, 2026, has drawn widespread criticism.

Faisal was reportedly attacked by more than 20 thugs led by Fahd Elfouz Arafiq, the son of veteran singer Arafiq. The victim was punched, kicked, and even nearly hit with a chair. Ranny Fadh Arafiq, a member of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) from Commission IX of the Golkar Party faction, was also seen participating in the attack. He was escorted by his personal bodyguard, an active-duty TNI member.

As a result of the thugs’ barbaric actions, Faisal suffered bruises on his head and bruises on several parts of his body. The victim was rushed to a hospital in the Pondok Indah area of South Jakarta for intensive care.

Responding to this shameful incident, the Executive Director of the Indonesian Police Strategic Studies Institute (Lemkapi), Edi Saputra Hasibuan expressed his deep regret. He firmly requested that the Polda Metro Jaya’s Propam immediately conduct a thorough investigation into this incident, including reports of police officers’ inaction on the victim, who was assaulted and beaten inside the police station.

“Propam must act swiftly in handling this case. The police who allowed the victim to be attacked must be found and dealt with firmly, as they have tarnished the reputation of the Polri. Moreover, the incident occurred inside a police station of the stature of the Polda Metro Jaya. The perpetrators must also be pursued and arrested for violating Article 170 of the Criminal Code concerning Assault,” Edi Hasibuan emphasized to the author on Saturday, March 28, 2026.

Honestly, he himself never imagined such a barbaric incident could occur, especially since the crime scene was within the Polda Metro Jaya. Edi said, that allowing this barbaric act by the Polri officers was clearly wrong. However, this must still be investigated and legally proven by the Polda Metro Jaya’s Propam.

“The key is that the Polda Metro Jaya’s Propam must thoroughly investigate this case and provide clarification to calm wild public opinion. We will patiently await the results,” he continued.

One more note, the track record of Faisal’s assailant, Fahd Elfouz Arafiq, is also not good. He is a Golkar Party cadre and the General Chairman of Bapera (Nusantara Youth Front).
