Bandung City Polres Traffic Unit Proactively Addresses Tourist Surge During Good Friday and Easter Long Weekend

progresifjaya.co.id, BANDUNG – The influx of tourists to Bandung during the 2026 Good Friday and Easter long weekends has surged. Consequently, the Bandung City Polres Traffic Unit (Satlantas) has immediately taken proactive measures. They have mapped out traffic congestion red zones and deployed full force to ensure the smooth flow of public activities in the Flower City.
More than 200 personnel have been deployed and strategically distributed throughout Bandung. The presence of hundreds of personnel on the ground is intended to provide a sense of security and provide a quick response to any congestion that arises at entrances or tourist routes.
Bandung City Polres Traffic Unit Chief, AKBP Hudi Arif emphasized in a statement, that his staff have prepared various dynamic action plans (CB). The deployed personnel are not only on guard duty but are also equipped with the authority to implement traffic management and situational road opening and closing systems.
“We, the Bandung City Polres Traffic Unit, have prepared tactical measures. Approximately 200 personnel have been deployed to all vulnerable areas in Bandung City to anticipate congestion during the national holiday,” said AKBP Hudi Arif on Thursday, April 2, 2026.

These crucial vulnerable areas include the main toll gates: Pasteur, Buahbatu, Moh. Toha, and Summarecon. Then there are the shopping mall areas: PVJ, Paskal 23, and other large shopping centers. Also, strategic tourist routes, such as Simpang Ledeng (the route to Lembang) and the Dago area, which are often centers of mass concentration.
In addition to focusing on smooth traffic flow, the Bandung City Polres Traffic Unit is also collaborating with the Transportation Agency (Dishub) to take firm action on the ground. The main focus is clearing the roads of illegal parking and unscrupulous traveler activity, which often cause congestion in the Terusan Buahbatu, Pasteur, and Dipatiukur areas.
AKBP Hudi ensured, that there would be zero tolerance for vehicles picking up or dropping off passengers in any place. Strict action, including fines and towing, is being taken against violators to protect the rights of other road users.
