progresifjaya.co.id, SUKABUMI – The Sukabumi City Polres Traffic Unit recorded 37 traffic accidents (Laka Lantas) between January and March 2026. Of these, 11 people were killed and 51 suffered minor injuries.

The Head of the Law Enforcement Unit of the Sukabumi City Polres Traffic Unit, Ipda Andhika Pratistha explained to the media, that January was the month with the highest number of accidents, with 15 accidents. This was followed by February with 12 and March with 10.

“January saw the highest number of accidents, with three fatalities. Then, February also saw three fatalities. March, with the lowest number of accidents, saw the highest number of fatalities, with five. Meanwhile, material losses were estimated at Rp41 million,” Ipda Andhika told the media on Tuesday, April 7, 2026.

He explained, that the double-digit number of accidents in Sukabumi City in the first quarter of 2026 has become a serious concern for his department. Various preventative measures have been intensified, from increased patrols to public traffic safety education.

“Not only that. The Traffic Police also routinely conduct Blue Light patrols at night to anticipate disturbances to public order and security (gukamtibmas) and disturbances to traffic security and traffic,” Ipda Andhika said.

During the Blue Light patrols, he continued, officers actively advise the public, including those still active late at night, to prioritize security and safety.
