Landslide Cuts Off Access to Bandung-Cirebon National Road, Sumedang Polres Satlantas Implements Traffic Redirection

Sumedang Polres Traffic Unit personnel descended on the landslide site on Cadas Pangeran Highway, Sumedang Regency.
progresifjaya.co.id, SUMEDANG – A landslide that occurred on Cadas Pangeran Highway, Sumedang Regency, on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at around 5:30 PM Western Indonesian Time, completely cut off access to the national road connecting Bandung and Cirebon.
In response to this situation, the Traffic Unit (Satlantas) of the Sumedang Polres, Polda of the West Java, immediately initiated a double-time traffic redirection to ease congestion and ensure the safety of road users. This double-time traffic redirection was led by the Head of the Sumedang Polres Traffic Unit, AKP Agus Sukaedi.
Snap to it traffic engineering of four-wheeled vehicles from the direction of Bandung and Parakanmuncang towards Cirebon is directed to enter the toll road via the Pamulihan Toll Gate (GT).
Vehicles from Cirebon heading to Bandung were diverted through the Sumedang Toll Gate. Meanwhile, motorcycles, both from Bandung to Cirebon and vice versa, are being directed to use the alternative route via the Cadas Pangeran upper road.
This swift action was taken to ensure public safety and avoid prolonged congestion due to the disruption of the main route. Traffic around the area is currently reported to be safe and under control, although the disruption remains severe.
Kapolres of the Sumedang, AKBP Sandityo Mahardika, through the Head of the Sumedang Polres Traffic Unit, AKP Agus Sukaedi, stated, that the traffic engineering scheme was implemented in a measured manner to minimize the impact of the disaster.
“We immediately took swift action by deploying personnel to regulate traffic flow and directing road users to safe alternative routes. This is to ensure public safety and ensure smooth traffic flow,” said AKP Agus on Friday, April 10, 2026.
Furthermore, he urged the public to comply with the directions of officers in the field and to increase vigilance when traveling through disaster-prone areas.
“We urge all road users to continue following officers’ instructions and to be patient. Remember, this is an emergency situation due to a natural disaster,” he added. (Bembo)
