Under the Influence of Sabu, Three Pretending to Be Big Men Extort Meatball Vendors Before Being Arrested by the Central Jakarta Metro Polres

progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – Under the influence of crystal methamphetamine (sabu), three men pretending to be big men extorted money from a meatball vendor and damaged his merchandise at the Berkah Coffee Shop in Tanah Abang District, Central Jakarta, on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at around 11:40 PM WIB. Fortunately, a concerned citizen recorded the incident and posted it on social media.

Central Jakarta Metro Polres investigators immediately responded to the complaint of extortion, threats, and damage by the three pretentious men. They were arrested without resistance.

Kapolres Metro of the Central Jakarta, Kombes Pol Reynold E.P. Hutagalung explained in a statement, that based on initial information, the perpetrators demanded Rp300.000 in security money from the victim and threatened violence if they did not receive it. When the perpetrators refused, they went on a rampage, threatening and destroying property.

“However, investigators acted swiftly and arrested the three perpetrators after the extortion report was filed. Two sharp weapons were confiscated from them. Urine tests also revealed that the three perpetrators tested positive for methamphetamine,” said Kapolres Kombes Pol Reynold on Friday, April 10, 2026.

Investigators are currently investigating the case, including legal proceedings for alleged extortion, threats, and drug abuse. (Bembo)
