progresifjaya.co.id, KUKAR – Kapolda of East Kalimantan, Irjen Pol Endar Priantoro demonstrated an interactive participant observation approach with corn farmers on the former PT Kitadin mining land. This approach was implemented by Kapolda Endar to achieve National Food Self-Sufficiency in 2026.

Kapolda Endar conducted this step during the second quarter simultaneous corn harvest event centered on the former PT Kitadin land in Embalut Village, Tenggarong Seberang District, Kutai Kartanegara Regency (Kukar) on Saturday afternoon, May 16, 2026.

In his remarks, Kapolda Endar stated, that the Polri strongly supports the President’s program for food security. In East Kalimantan, the Polri are assisting and assisting communities to increase their income and economic well-being by utilizing the former PT Kitadin mining land.

In addition to implementing a corn planting program utilizing ex-mining land, the Polri through the Polda of East Kalimantan, are also exploring farmers’ capabilities to create other innovations by utilizing ex-mining land to improve its economic value.

“We emphasize that every Polres (Resort Police) is required to become a pilot industrial project to assist the community with food security and improve the local economy,” Kapolda Endar instructed his staff.

He also stated, that unstable corn prices, which sometimes fall during the harvest season, are still a current obstacle. This is because corn is currently not a priority.

“But don’t worry. We will try to help process corn raw materials into products with added value,” said Kapolda Endar.

He hopes, that this corn planting program will boost and stabilize the local economy, thereby creating a safe and conducive environment.

At this event, the Polda of East Kalimantan also had the opportunity to provide assistance to corn farming groups.
