Polres Banjar Traffic Unit Provides Education and Guidance on Traffic Compliance to Students at SMPN 9 Banjar City

The Traffic Unit of the Polres Banjar provides guidance and encourages orderly traffic behavior among students at SMPN 9 Banjar City.
progresifjaya.co.id, BANJAR CITY – Road safety must be cultivated and instilled from an early age, starting during one’s school years. With this in mind, the Traffic Unit of the Polres Banjar (Satlantas Polres Banjar) has taken the initiative to engage directly with students, fostering awareness and understanding regarding the importance of adhering to traffic regulations. This effort also serves to demonstrate the role of the Polri as a friend to the youth—one that genuinely cares about their future.
The educational session and guidance on traffic compliance were delivered to students at SMPN 9 Banjar City on Tuesday, October 27, 2026. The event coincided with the implementation of Operasi Patuh Lodaya 2026.
Beginning at 07:00 AM, the session was led by the Head of the Polres Banjar Traffic Unit, AKP Priyo Sumbodo, accompanied by the Head of the Traffic Unit’s Operations Section, the Head of the Traffic Safety Unit, the Head of the Polsek Pataruman Traffic Unit, and other members of the Traffic Unit.
The session was designed to create an informal and open space for interaction between police officers and the younger generation. Through this educational and friendly approach, the officers encouraged students to recognize that the road is a shared space that requires collective responsibility. Traffic regulations are not intended to be burdensome, but rather to protect the lives of everyone who uses the road.
Addressing the students, the officers emphasized the importance of understanding and obeying all traffic signs, signals, and road markings. The students were also taught how to conduct themselves safely and courteously on the road—whether as pedestrians, passengers, or, in the future, as drivers of their own vehicles.
It was further emphasized, that one’s own safety—as well as the safety of others—must never be sacrificed for the sake of speed or momentary convenience. Moreover, students were encouraged to understand that compliance with traffic rules should stem from a genuine sense of conscience, rather than merely from a fear of sanctions or reprimands from authorities. Good habits cultivated during these formative years will serve as a robust safeguard for the future.
This outreach session also served as a platform to disseminate information regarding Operasi Patuh Lodaya 2026, which is scheduled to run for 14 days, from October 26 to November 8, 2026.
Officers provided a clear and simple explanation of the five primary enforcement targets of the operation, ensuring that students not only knew what the police were doing but also understood the rationale behind each measure. The ultimate goal is to foster a safer, more orderly, and more comfortable traffic environment for the entire community.
With this understanding, students are encouraged to act as reminders for their parents and relatives at home.
AKP Priyo Sumbodo, Head of the Traffic Unit of the Polres Banjar emphasized, that instilling an understanding of traffic safety during one’s school years is a highly strategic move with long-term value.
Children who grasp the importance of order on the road today will grow into responsible motorists in the future. Furthermore, they will serve as a bridge, carrying the message of safety into their own families.
A single educated child can inspire awareness among many others around them. This is the true essence of the “Polisi Sahabat Anak” initiative—being present not only to protect, but also to guide and grow alongside the nation’s next generation.
Through this initiative, the Traffic Unit of the Polres Banjar has conveyed much more than just information regarding the ongoing operation. Behind every word spoken lies a hope that a culture of orderly traffic behavior will truly take root and flourish among the younger generation.
Safer roads are not created through an abundance of penalties, but rather through simple, consistent habits: understanding the rules, respecting the rights of other road users, and never taking risks that could endanger oneself or others.
Driven by this spirit of care and togetherness, the Polres Banjar remain fully committed to acting as a supportive ally—guiding young people toward a safer and brighter future. (Bembo)
