progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – The Chief of the Criminal Investigation Agency (Kabareskrim) of the Polri, Komjen Pol Asep Safrudin, has strongly denied wild rumors suggesting that two former Kapolri were among those arrested in connection with an alleged illegal wiretapping case targeting President Prabowo Subianto. He emphasized that these rumors are entirely untrue.

“The information is not true,” stated Komjen Pol Asep when asked for confirmation to media personnel on Sunday, November 8, 2026.

However, he declined to provide further comment regarding these false reports.

Previously, the Polri named four individuals as suspects in a case involving the alleged illegal wiretapping of President Prabowo Subianto and several other parties. The wiretapping is suspected to have been taking place since 2025.

The four suspects in this case are a former Kapolri, Jenderal Pol Listyo Sigit Prabowo, along with Irjen Pol Ahrie Sonta Nasution, Irjen PolbEko Hadi Santoso, and Irjen Pol Slamet Uliandi.

For their actions, the four suspects face multiple charges. First, they are charged under Article 258 of Law No. 1 of 2023 (the Criminal Code), which carries a potential sentence of 10 years in prison. Second, they are charged under Article 332 of the Criminal Code, which carries a potential sentence of up to 6 years in prison.

The suspects are also charged under Law No. 11 of 2008 concerning Information and Electronic Transactions (the ITE Law), which carries a potential sentence of up to 8 years in prison.

Currently, suspects Listyo Sigit Prabowo (LSP), Head of the Polri Legal Division, Irjen Pol Ahrie Sonta (AHN), and Irjen Pol Eko Hadi Santoso (EH) are being held in the Polri Headquarters detention center. Meanwhile, Irjen Pol Slamet Uliandi is not being detained due to health reasons. (Bembo)
