Rebellious youths suspected of brawls and illegal racing arrested by joint patrol Brimob Unit of the Polda Metro Jaya and the East Jakarta Metropolitan Polres along with evidence.

progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – A joint patrol by the Mobile Brigade Unit of the Polda Metro Jaya and the East Jakarta Metropolitan Polres successfully thwarted a planned brawl and illegal racing event scheduled to take place between Friday night and early Saturday morning, January 16 and 17, 2026.

Several youths involved in both events were also apprehended along with evidence. Four motorcycles, one sickle, one arrow, one golf club, one hose, one dipper filled with acid, and three mobile phones were seized as evidence.

The Head of the Mobile Brigade Unit of the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Henik Maryanto stated in a statement, that the joint patrol targeted areas prone to brawls and illegal racing in East Jakarta. In the process, several groups of youths with strong indications of causing trouble and endangering public safety were caught on the road.

“Seeing the group of unruly youths on the street, we immediately took swift and measured action to prevent clashes and traffic accidents. It turns out that the unruly youths weren’t the only ones caught. Dangerous evidence, such as acid and sickles, was also confiscated during the arrests,” explained Kombes Pol Henik to the media on Saturday, January 17, 2026.

“We immediately handed over all the youth suspected of being perpetrators and the evidence they captured to the local police for handling according to applicable law,” he added.

Kombes Pol Henik also explained that joint patrols like this are an ongoing effort by the National Police to provide a sense of security to the public, especially in the capital and surrounding areas. The presence of police personnel on the ground is a concrete security measure to prevent and minimize the potential for crime and prevent widespread impact.

“Any potential security disturbances must be prevented early. The presence of Brimob, along with regional elements, is one form of Polri service so that the public can carry out their activities safely and comfortably,” he explained.

He also emphasized, that integrated patrols like this will continue to be carried out consistently. This effort is a preventative measure to maintain public order and security stability within the jurisdiction of the Polda Metro Jaya.
