Through the ‘Polantas Menyapa’ Program, the Tasikmalaya Police Traffic Unit Educates the Public About Orderly Ranmor Administration

Head of Traffic Unit for Tasikmalaya Polres, AKP Ajat Sudrajat
progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – The ‘Polantas Menyapa’ program is a humane innovation launched by the Indonesian Polri’s Traffic Corps Registration Directorate. This program emphasizes humble and humane communication methods to the public about the importance of motor vehicle ownership, including vehicle registration certificates (BPKB), vehicle registration certificates (STNK), and driver’s licenses (SIM).
This program goes beyond ownership. It also provides educational communication regarding the administrative procedures for motor vehicles, including how to pay vehicle taxes, renew SIM, and even the vehicle title transfer process.
Tasikmalaya Polres Traffic Unit Chief, AKP Ajat Sudrajat explained in a statement, that the ‘Polantas Menyapa’ program is a form of excellent police service to bring the police closer to the public. He continued, explaining that this effort also includes education to help the public better understand the official procedures for processing vehicle documents.
“We want the public to know that the entire process, including vehicle tax payments, STNK validation, SIM issuance and renewal, and vehicle title transfers, can be done easily, quickly, and officially without the use of brokers. Everything is now convenient,” said AKP Ajat some time ago.

He then explained a technical example of the motor vehicle tax payment mechanism, which can now be done online or offline at the Samsat (State Vehicle Registration Agency) office. The public is also reminded to ensure annual STNK validation to ensure vehicle data remains valid and legal for use on the road.
Regarding the process of transferring ownership of individual vehicles, AKP Ajat continued, the procedure is now easier. The public simply needs to prepare the original vehicle documents, including the BPKB and STNK, as well as the new owner’s ID card (KTP). All these documents are then brought to the Samsat office for processing, along with a physical inspection of the vehicle to be transferred.
Information on the issuance and renewal of SIMs is also provided. To obtain a new SIM, AKP Ajat continued, applicants must fulfill the requirements, such as a KTP, a health certificate, and pass the theory and practical exams. Meanwhile, for those who wish to renew their SIM, the process must be completed before the validity period expires. To do this, applicants simply need to bring their KTP, old driver’s license, and health test results.
“All the processes explained above can be completed in person at the official service office. Never be tempted by fast services from individuals or brokers, as this will only increase costs. Just come directly because the process is guaranteed, safe, and on time,” AKP Ajat reiterated.
In general, the ‘Polantas Menyapa’ program is a means for the Tasikmalaya Polres Traffic Unit to raise public awareness about the importance of orderly ranmor administration. Including compliance with traffic laws. The Tasikmalaya Polres Traffic Unit hopes that through this program, public awareness of orderly vehicle administration will increase. They will also recognize that these efforts are part of a safe and comfortable lifestyle for motorists on the road. (Bembo)
