Kapolda Riau Islands, Irjen Pol Asep Safrudin

progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – The Kapolda Riau Islands (Kepri), Irjen Pol Asep Safrudin, is not a new figure as a Polri leader in the 32nd province of the Republic of Indonesia. Before becoming the Kapolda Riau Islands in early 2025, he served as the Kapolresta Barelang in 2014, and then as the Wakapolda Riau Islands from 2023 to 2025.

This high-ranking two-star Polri officer is originally from West Java. He was born in Sibanteng, Leuwisadeng, Bogor Regency, on June 15, 1969.

He then returned to Java and served as Director of the Polda Banten Narcotics Investigation Directorate (2016), Head of Sub-Directorate II of the Cyber Crimes Directorate at the Polri Criminal Investigation Agency (2017), Deputy Director of Cyber Crimes at the Polri Criminal Investigation Agency (2018), and Head of the Polri Education and Training Center (2019).

He then moved to Borneo to become Wakapolda of the Polda West Kalimantan (2020). He then returned to the Land of Andalas to become Wakapolda of the Riau Islands (2023), and is now the Kapolda of the Riau Islands.
