Holding Emergency Response Preparedness Roll Call, Polda Metro Check Personnel Readiness and Infrastructure Readiness

progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – A disaster preparedness roll call was held by the Polda Metro Jaya at Presisi Field, South Jakarta, Wednesday, (5/11) morning. Led directly by the Kapolda Metro Jaya, Irjen Pol Asep Edi Suheri, the roll call was attended by hundreds of joint personnel from the Polri, the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas), the Fire Department, and the Public Order Agency (Satpol PP).

During the roll call, the Kapolda, who is affectionately known as Kang Asep ‘Sniper’, also read out the message from Kapolri Jenderal Pol Listyo Sigit Prabowo in his remarks. He also stated that the Polda Metro Jaya wants to ensure the readiness of all parties tasked with handling potential disasters in the Jakarta area, especially given the current extreme weather conditions.

“This roll call is a form of checking our personnel and infrastructure readiness for natural disaster prevention and response. We also ask all personnel and stakeholders to work closely together to remain alert and act quickly and appropriately in handling various potential disasters,” explained Kapolda Kang Asep “Sniper.”

He also emphasized, that these efforts must be implemented now. These efforts also demonstrate our commitment to ensuring the security and safety of the people of Jakarta, especially given the current weather conditions, which are prone to irritability and extreme displays of force.

“The situation i mentioned is based on data from the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) as of October 19, 2025. A total of 2.606 natural disasters have been recorded. These include 1.209 floods, 545 extreme weather events, 511 forest and land fires, 180 landslides, 22 earthquakes, and four volcanic eruptions,” explained Kapolda Kang Asep ‘Sniper’.

“Meanwhile, according to BMKG data, 43.8% of Indonesia’s territory has now entered the rainy season. The peak is expected to occur gradually from November 2025 to January 2026,” he added.

During the roll call, Kapolda Chief Kang Asep ‘Sniper’ also reiterated several important points that his staff must always pay attention to. This includes collaboration with the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) for early detection and ongoing mapping of disaster-prone areas, as well as providing information and warnings to the public regarding potential natural disaster threats.

Furthermore, personnel readiness and the availability of necessary facilities and infrastructure must be taken into consideration. This also applies to evacuation equipment, operational vehicles, and the availability of supporting logistics.

Disaster emergency response simulations must also be conducted regularly, especially as they serve as a means of education and training for business preparedness.

Furthermore, Kapolda Kang Asep “Sniper” reminded his personnel to always prioritize speed and accuracy in disaster emergency response when acting, including evacuation processes, aid distribution, trauma healing, and accelerated infrastructure recovery and rehabilitation.

As the roll call drew to a close, Kapolda Kang Asep “Sniper” displayed his creativity and initiative through a humanistic message with a multifaceted meaning. This message conveyed his commitment to ensuring all personnel involved remain professional and carry out their duties based on empathy.
