Polda East Java Traffic Director, Kombes Pol Iwan Saktiadi awarded the Head of the Blitar City Polres Traffic Unit for his innovative work in collaborating with national religious leaders to promote traffic order during Operation Zebra Semeru 2025.

progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – The Blitar City Polres Traffic Unit’s (Satlantas) innovative collaboration with national religious leaders to promote orderly traffic during Operation Zebra Semeru 2025 was praised and appreciated by the Polda East Java Traffic Director (Dirlantas), Kombes Pol Iwan Saktiadi.

As a token of appreciation, praise, and recognition for this performance, Kombes Pol Iwan Saktiadi presented the award directly to Blitar City Polres Traffic Unit Chief (Kasat Lantas), AKP Agus Prayitno.

Addressing the media after receiving the award, AKP Agus stated that the award received from Kombes Pol Iwan was a fair recognition from a leader for the work of his subordinates, which was deemed extraordinary and anomalous in a positive context.

“The positive context of the anomaly is due to our collaboration with national religious figures to promote traffic order during Operation Zebra Semeru 2025, which can be considered unique and different, but it’s well-liked by many. We implemented this unique approach with the goal of reducing accidents by taking a persuasive approach. That’s it,” explained AKP Agus on Tuesday, (2/12).

“And Alhamdulillah, this award motivates us to continue innovating to serve the public. We realize that a legal approach alone is not enough. It requires a heartfelt approach,” he added.

Regarding the technical aspects of the unique positive anomaly classification innovation in question, which was implemented by the Kasat Lantas Blitar City Polres AKP Agus explained, that this innovation was implemented through a “pick-up approach.”

This method, often referred to in English as “to get the ball rolling,” was implemented by the Blitar City Polres Traffic Unit in collaboration with the Sabilu Taubah Islamic Study Group led by Gus Iqdam on Monday evening (17/11).

On this occasion, the Satlantas personnel were present and mingled with thousands of congregants, the majority of whom were millennials and Gen Z. They delivered messages about road safety in a fun and friendly style, conveying a humanistic approach. This was a smart approach that directly touched the hearts of the congregation.

During his sermon, Gus Iqdam, speaking loudly and directly to the point, urged his congregation to obey traffic regulations.

“Don’t violate traffic signs. They’re not for decoration. They must be obeyed to ensure our safety while driving,” Gus Iqdam said in a firm tone, encouraging his congregation.

After his sermon, Gus Iqdam echoed his opinion with his assessment. He stated that this collaborative effort was effective because it had a positive impact on the image of the National Police. The active participation of religious scholars in this activity has also proven to be a faster way to raise legal awareness in the community. The public has become more aware of road rules after listening to the religious scholars’ advice.

“This initiative and innovation by the Blitar City Police Traffic Unit can serve as an example for other traffic units in implementing more responsive and inclusive police duties. All elements of society are being embraced, including religious leaders, so that we can quickly achieve our desired goals,” praised Gus Iqdam.

“And the desired goal is to establish public order while driving and reduce traffic accidents. Hopefully, all of this will soon be realized in the Blitar City area. Amen, YRA,” he added praying. (Bembo)
