progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – The Polda Metro Jaya Traffic Director, Kombes Pol Komarudin, has urged the public to refrain from holding convoys during New Year’s Eve 2026 celebrations. He will also deploy personnel to secure Jakarta’s borders.
In an official statement to the media, Kombes Pol Komarudin stated, that Jakarta will be fully secured during tomorrow’s New Year’s Eve celebrations. Security along the routes will also be enhanced, as a car-free night policy will be in effect until the early hours of January 1, 2026.
“Currently, there is no ban. However, we urge you not to convoy on the highway, especially since traffic is heavy. Don’t convoy because traffic is also congested,” said Kombes Pol Komarudin on Tuesday, December 30, 2025.
On a separate occasion, the Head of the Sub-Directorate of Law Enforcement at the Polda Metro Jaya Trafic Directored, AKBP Ojo Ruslani also added, that the Jakarta Provincial Government has issued a strict ban on the use of fireworks for tomorrow’s New Year’s celebrations. This ban is a form of tolerance and empathy for the victims affected by the disaster on Sumatra Island.
Furthermore, there is also a ban on the use of vehicles with noisy exhausts during New Year’s Eve celebrations. Therefore, he asked the public to comply with the ban because it has the potential to disrupt public order.
“The law already prohibits the use of noisy exhausts. So if someone persists in using them, not only is it violating the law, but it is also disrupting public order. It can trigger riots and clashes among those who feel disturbed by noisy convoys of vehicles with noisy exhausts.” “So please think about that and avoid any potential problems,” said AKBP Ojo.
