A friendly meeting between Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, and the King of Surakarta, Paku Buwono (PB) XIV, Gusti Purbaya.

progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – The King of Surakarta/Solo, Susuhunan Paku Buwono (PB) XIV Gusti Purbaya, visited the Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), Sufmi Dasco Ahmad. Also present at the visit were PB XIV Gusti Purbaya’s mother, Gusti Kanjeng Ratu (GKR) Asih Winarni, and his older sister, Gusti Kanjeng Ratu (GKR) Anom Sekarjati. The meeting was held in the DPR leadership room, Nusantara III, Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday, January 21, 2026.

The meeting discussed the management and conflicts at the Solo Palace.

PB XIV Purbaya stated in a statement, that the meeting with the DPR leadership served as a forum for strengthening ties. He expressed his hope that the Solo Palace would continue to run smoothly after the visit.

“I think it’s definitely the same. We’re here with my brother to visit. We hope to receive input so that the palace can continue to run smoothly and always have discussions,” said PB XIV Purbaya.

“Actually, this is a visit, our visit to Bapak Sufmi Dasco, that Paku Buwono XIV has been appointed. Hopefully, in the future, we can work together even better with the government to manage the palace and also to maintain it,” he added.

PB XIV Purbaya’s sister, GKR Anom Sekarjati, also added. She said the meeting also discussed the conflict at the Solo Palace, which had attracted public attention some time ago. Therefore, they requested guidance during this meeting.

“There was a bit of discussion like that, yes. It’s undeniable that something happened yesterday that made national news. But we’re just asking for guidance from the government on what we should do,” explained GKR Anom.

Regarding the direction given by Sufmi Dasco, GKR Anom hopes that the Solo Palace will maintain harmony in the future. Management through collaboration is expected to achieve better results.

“Pak Sufmi Dasco’s direction for the future is to encourage everyone to work together. Working together and developing the palace together,” GKR Anom added. (Bembo)
