progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – Boston Celtics superstar Jayson Tatum is still undergoing a lengthy recovery from an Achilles injury. Although he hasn’t played all season, the Boston Celtics haven’t ruled him out for the entire season. There’s still a chance he could play this season.
Even so, the 2,03 meter power forward, born on March 3, 1998, is worried that his return to the court will disrupt the Boston Celtics rhythm.
“I think about my team every day. How will they play when i return this season. They’ve already played about 50 games this season without me. They already have an identity or things they believe have worked for them, which has put the Boston Celtics in second place in the Eastern Conference,” explained the basketball player, known by the initials JT, in marketing, on The Pivot Podcast.
As is known, Tatum suffered an Achilles injury in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference semifinals on May 12, 2025, against the New York Knicks. And that means it will take a year or a season to recover from the Achilles injury. It also means Tatum’s return to the court is unlikely to occur until the end of the regular season or the playoffs.

The Boston Celtics chances of chasing a 19th title this season have been reduced by the Achilles injury that sidelined Tatum for an extended period. The Boston Celtics ultimately made a major overhaul during the offseason. As a result, they are still able to compete at the top of the league. However, it’s not as dominant as the season when they won the championship and Tatum played.
The Boston Celtics (29-17) currently sit second in the Eastern Conference behind the Detroit Pistons (34-11). Right behind the Celtics are the New York Knicks (28-18), who are constantly lurking to overtake them. Without Tatum, the Boston Celtics are now led by Jaylen Brown, who averages 29,6 points per game.
Before the injury, Tatum was actually in top form. The player with the number 0 jersey is in fourth place for the 2025 NBA MVP. He averaged 26,8 points, 8,7 rebounds, and 6 assists last season. This is the second time Tatum has finished in the top four of the MVP award in three years. (Bembo)
