Polda Metro Jaya Holds Rakorda for Food Task Force Ahead of HBKN, Emphasizes Price and Quality Monitoring of Commodities

Regional Coordination Meeting (Rakorda) of the Task Force to Clean Up Food Price, Security, and Quality Violations at the Polda Metro Jaya Special Criminal Investigation Directorate Building.

progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA — Polda Metro Jaya along with several ministries, institutions, and related agencies, held a Regional Coordination Meeting (Rakorda) for the Task Force to Eliminate Food Price, Safety, and Quality Violations at the Polda Metro Jaya’s Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimsus) Building on Thursday, February 5, 2026. This Rakorda was held to anticipate potential supply disruptions and price spikes ahead of the National Religious Holiday (HBKN).

The Rakorda was led by the Director of Special Criminal Investigation of the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Edy Suranta Sitepu, Head of the Food Task Force. Also present at the meeting were Dr. Ir. Budi Waryanto, a representative from the National Food Agency (Bapanas), Taufan Akib, Head of the Jakarta–Banten Regional Logistics Agency (Bulog), and AKBP Martuasah H. Tobing, Deputy Director of Special Criminal Investigation of the Polda Metro Jaya. Also present at the Regional Coordination Meeting were representatives from the food, trade, and agriculture agencies, the Department of Food and Agricultural Goods and Services (DPMPTSP) from Jakarta, Banten, and West Java, as well as members of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Polres Satreskrim and the ranks and personnel from the Food Task Force.

During this Rakorda, the Food Task Force reiterated its supervision of strategic commodities regulated by the Highest Retail Price (HET), Reference Sales Price (HAP), and Government Purchase Price (HPP) schemes. Priority commodities for supervision include SPHP rice, medium, and premium rice. Also included are Minyakita cooking oil, dried corn kernels, soybeans, chicken eggs, chicken, beef, and buffalo meat, shallots, garlic, chilies, and consumer sugar.

In addition to prices, the Food Task Force also highlighted food safety and quality. Supervision focused on potential pesticide residues, the use of formalin, and aflatoxins in food.

Indicators of violations include contamination above the threshold, the circulation of expired food, and the use of prohibited hazardous materials. Violations will be handled in a multi-layered manner, using preemptive, preventive, and repressive approaches, based on the principle of ultimum remedium.

“The Food Task Force works to ensure the implementation of food pricing and quality policies so that producers and consumers are protected in accordance with statutory regulations,” emphasized the Head of the Food Task Force, Kombes Pol Edy Suranta Sitepu.

However, in his affirmation, he also reminded all personnel to always be polite and ethical while on duty.

“Implementation in the field must be carried out with a humane approach, without offending the public. Always prioritize outreach and education before law enforcement,” he reminded.

For the record, the Rakorda, led by Kombes Pol Edy Suranta Sitepu, was held based on several regulations as references. These include Decree of the Head of the National Food Agency Number 224 of 2025 concerning the Highest Retail Price (HET) for SPHP rice, Decree of the Head of the Agency Number 299 of 2025 concerning the Highest Retail Price (HET) for rice, Regulations of the National Food Agency, and Decrees of the Minister of Trade concerning food price control and distribution.

The Polda Metro Jaya Food Task Force hopes that through cross-agency synergy through this Rakorda, price stability, availability, and food security in Jakarta, Banten, and the surrounding areas can be maintained in the lead-up to the National Eid al-Fitr holiday (HBKN). This will also prevent and minimize violations that could harm the public. (Bembo)
