progresifjaya co.id, JAKARTA – Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) Sufmi Dasco Ahmad believes that civil society unity is key to good governance. Therefore, he called on civil society to strengthen national unity.

According to him, national unity and contributions are not just lip service or gossip. He also deplored the phenomenon of civil society still insulting each other on social media.

“This situation is unhealthy. Therefore, we ask our fellow civil society members to unite and promote national unity,” said Sufmi Dasco on Friday, March 6, 2026.

“Our civil society is still not united, still insulting each other. They also question government policies in an unhealthy way. I see that,” he added.

He further stated, that President Prabowo Subianto’s administration needs national unity to realize its promises, especially regarding the welfare of the people.

The national unity he meant did not mean preventing civil society from voicing criticism or input. Rather, he hoped that such criticism would be fostered with a sense of nationalism and good intentions.

Sufmi Dasco also asked all parties to give President Prabowo’s administration time to work as well as possible. He believes that public trust in the current administration will bring goodness to the nation and state.

“In fact, now i will ask all of you, my friends, how long can you, my friends in civil society, provide national unity to President Prabowo? So that the President has time to fulfill his promises for the welfare of the people,” he emphasized. (Bembo)
