progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – The atmosphere at the Kalijodo RPTRA on Jalan Pangeran Tubagus Angke, Angke Village, Tambora District, West Jakarta, was bustling and lively on Friday night, March 6, 2026. Hundreds of teenagers gathered enthusiastically to participate in the Night Run held by the West Jakarta Metro Polres.
This activity was held as an effort by the West Jakarta Metro Polres to channel the energy of young people in a more positive direction during the month of Ramadhan.
A total of 105 teenagers from junior high to high school levels, both boys and girls, took part in the 100-meter run.
Before the race began, participants first participated in a warm-up (stretching) led by West Jakarta Metro Polres personnel to prevent injury during the race.
Kapolres Metro of the West Jakarta, Kombes Pol Twedi Aditya Bennyahdi, who opened the event, expressed his pride in being present among the community.
In his remarks, he stated that the Night Run was not just a sporting event, but also a tangible demonstration of the closeness between the Polri and the community.
“This activity has three main goals: promoting a healthy lifestyle among urban communities, creating a security cooling system through positive activities in public spaces, and strengthening the relationship between the police and the community without barriers,” said Kombes Pol Twedi.
“So, when public spaces are filled with positive activities like sports, the space for negative activities like brawls or illegal racing will be increasingly limited. We also want to demonstrate that West Jakarta can be a healthy, safe, and togetherness-filled area,” he added.
The Night Run event ran from 10:00 PM WIB until just before dawn. Also present at the event were the Wakapolres Metro of the West Jakarta, AKBP Rezi Dharmawan; the Head of Human Resources, Kompol Leny Winarti; the main officers (PJU) of the West Jakarta Metro Polres, and the Kapolsek of the Tambora, AKP Wahyu Hidayat.
