progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – To secure the flow of travelers returning from Eid al-Fitr 1447 H (homecoming and return trips), the Polda Metro Jaya will deploy thousands of personnel for Operation Ketupat Jaya 2026. Operation Ketupat Jaya 2026 will run from March 13th to 25th, 2026.

Polda Metro Jaya Traffic Director, Kombes Pol Komarudin, stated in an official statement, that his department will deploy 6.800 personnel for Operation Ketupat Jaya 2026. They will be deployed to secure travel routes and other vital locations.

“During Operation Ketupat, more than 6.800 personnel from the Polri, the TNI, and related agencies will be deployed throughout the Polda Metro Jaya jurisdiction to ensure security and comfort during the Eid homecoming (mudik) travel,” he said.

The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) predicts that the peak of the 2026 Eid homecoming (mudik) travel will occur between March 16-18. Jakarta is the second city with the highest number of travelers in Indonesia.

“Personnel deployment will be divided into three directions, three regions. Starting westward to Sumatra, then southward to Bogor and its surroundings, including the eastern region towards Central Java, West Java, East Java, and so on,” said Kombes Pol Komarudin.

He also stated, that during Operation Ketupat Jaya 2026, his team will establish 101 service posts, security posts, and monitoring posts.

“Therefore, we urge all people planning to travel to ensure, first and foremost, that they are fit and healthy,” he added.

“Vehicle conditions are also the same. Plan trips at predictable times so they don’t coincide with the peak of the homecoming traffic, or the peak of the return traffic,” he continued.

Kombes Pol Komarudin also stated, that because the Eid al-Fitr holiday coincides with Nyepi Day, his team has prepared a security scheme, including security at tourist attractions in Jakarta.

The Polda Metro Jaya Traffic Directorate, along with relevant stakeholders, has also prepared a traffic management scheme in case of flooding on the homecoming routes.

Potential waterlogging and flooding areas have been mapped, including a road engineering plan for when roads become impassable due to flooding. (Bembo)
