progresifjaya.co.id, SUKABUMI – A portion of the Bogor–Ciawi–Sukabumi (Bocimi) Toll Road Section 3, Cibadak–West Sukabumi/Cibolang section, is planned to be operationally opened on March 13, 2026. The opening of this toll road section aims to help ease the congestion of the homecoming (mudik) traffic.

The 5.6-kilometer portion of the toll road will have an exit access to the Nagrak–Karang Tengah alternative road in Cibadak District, Sukabumi Regency.

During the inspection of the Bocimi Toll Road, Kapolda of the West Java, Irjen Pol Rudi Setiawan stated, that the Bocimi Toll Road Section 3 is strategically positioned to help reduce congestion on the Sukabumi–Bogor national arterial road. This route has been plagued by several long-term congestion points that frequently occur during the homecoming and return flows.

“Bocimi Section 3 is very strategic if it is operational during Operation Ketupat Lodaya 2026. It can bypass the arterial route, which has around seven major traffic jams. This is highly anticipated by people traveling home and returning home. It is also free to use,” said Kapolda Rudi on Monday, March 9, 2026.

He stated, that during the operational period, one toll road will be used for two lanes of vehicles. This scheme is expected to speed up vehicle movement from Bogor to Sukabumi and vice versa.

Currently, the physical construction of this toll road section is nearly complete. Only about 115 meters remain, which are still in the concrete stage and are targeted for completion by March 12, 2026.

“If completed as planned, it will be operational on March 13 to help alleviate congestion on the arterial route between Parungkuda and Sukabumi,” said Kapolda Rudi.

Currently, the Bocimi Section 3 Toll Road will operate on a limited basis only during the day. The toll road will open in the morning and close again after sunset for road safety reasons.

“People who want to travel home via the Bocimi route can use Bocimi Section 3 until they exit at Karang Tengah,” said Kapolda Rudi.

In addition to monitoring the toll road’s readiness, Kapolda Rudi also highlighted the potential for congestion on arterial roads, especially in the Cibadak Market area. Therefore, in collaboration with the West Java Provincial Government and the Sukabumi Regency Government, the Polda of the West Java have prepared traffic management measures, including regulating public transportation that often stops on the side of the road.

“We will implement arrangements to prevent intersections or cuts in traffic flow that cause congestion,” Kapolda Rudi said. (Bembo)
