progresifjaya.co.id, TASIKMALAYA – Ramadhan 1447 H is a special moment for the Tasikmalaya Polres. Why? Because Tasikmalaya Regency officially enters the era of digital-based traffic law enforcement.

This special moment was marked by the handover of Electronic Traffic Law Enforcement (E-TLE) devices from the Tasikmalaya Regency Government to the Tasikmalaya Polres. This marks a new milestone for the region, nicknamed Beieren van Java, ensuring order on the roads without the need for officers to be physically present in the field.

Kapolres Tasikmalaya, AKBP Wahyu Pristha Utama stated in an official statement, that his office is very grateful and welcomes the support of the local government’s E-TLE device donation. The presence of ETLE, he continued, is an extraordinary innovative breakthrough and is much needed amidst the development of an era that demands speed in information technology.

“This is an extraordinary form of creativity for Tasikmalaya Regency. With E-TLE, law enforcement can be carried out using electronic cameras without manual ticketing. We feel strongly supported by the local government in enforcing the law by utilizing advances in information technology,” said Kapolres AKBP Wahyu.

He also stated, that the main purpose of this sophisticated device is not simply to enforce the law, but also to build public awareness. He strongly desires that the public behave in an orderly manner, not out of fear of police officers on the roadside, but through personal awareness, including wearing helmets, seat belts, and obeying road markings.

Tasikmalaya Polres Traffic Unit Head, AKP Didit Permadi added that, the E-TLE device donated has now been installed in a strategic location, namely in Badak Paeh, Jl. Singaparna. However, in the initial phase, this system will not directly issue tickets. Instead, it will involve a socialization process to familiarize residents and prevent them from being surprised.

“So that the public isn’t surprised by this change, we will conduct extensive outreach first and await instructions from the Kakor Lantas before actually activating the ETLE ticketing function,” explained AKP Didit.

Going forward, AKP Didit continued, his team will add installation points and prioritize trouble spots and black spots—areas prone to violations and accidents.

From the Tasikmalaya Regency Government, Acting Regional Secretary of Tasikmalaya Regency, Roni Ahmad Sahroni stated, that this grant is a form of government support for the police in educating the public. With electronic monitoring, order can be maintained even when there are no officers in the field.

“This is the digital age. It is imperative for us to synergize with the Polri so that the public can develop a high sense of discipline,” he said cheerfully. (Bembo)
