A member of the Traffic Directorate (Ditlantas) of the Polda Metro Jaya, Brigadir Fajar Permana, passed away while on duty securing the 2026 Eid homecoming traffic. The deceased is suspected to have suffered from extreme fatigue due to the intense workload in the field.
The Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Bhudi Hermanto, confirmed the sad news in an official statement. He described the deceased as a young man dedicated to serving the community.
“The Polda Metro Jaya has deeply lost a highly dedicated young Bhayangkara figure like the late Brigadir Fajar Permana. He passed away after carrying out his national mandate. Preliminary suspicions are that his physical condition declined drastically due to exhaustion after a marathon of field duty serving the community,” explained Kombes Pol Bhudi on Monday, March 23, 2026.
In addition to physical exhaustion, the deceased was also reported to have experienced respiratory problems after serving at various homecoming service points. In response to this incident, the Kapolda Metro Jaya, Irjen Pol Asep Edi Suheri, immediately instructed the Medical and Health Division (Biddokkes) to tighten health monitoring of all personnel still on duty during Operation Ketupat Jaya 2026.
“The Kapolda has ordered the Dokkes team to monitor the health of personnel in the field. We ask for prayers from the entire community for the late Brigadir Fajar Permana to find the best place in His presence and for the family he leaves behind to be given strength,” said Kombes Pol Bhudi again.

He also stated, that the Polda Metro Jaya would fulfill all the deceased’s rights, including providing compensation to the family as a final tribute to his service.
Kapolri, Jenderal Pol Listyo Sigit Prabowo also expressed his deepest condolences for the passing of Brigadir Fajar Permana. He prayed for the deceased to find the best place and for the family he left behind to be given strength.
“Innalilahi wa innailaihi rojiun, as the leader of the Polri, i express my condolences for the loss of our member who was on duty,” said Kapolri Listyo Sigit.
“May the deceased rest in peace and may the entire family be given strength and fortitude,” he added.
As the highest token of appreciation for his service, the Kapolri then awarded the deceased a posthumous extraordinary promotion (KPLB).
“To honor the deceased’s services, we request a posthumous promotion to the rank of KPLB (Extraordinary Promotion). Thank you for your dedication and dedication to the community and the institution,” said Kapolri Listyo Sigit concluding his statement. (Bembo)
