Taxpayer Overflow Impacted by Ease of Tax Payment, Cimareme Samsat Increases Supervision and Services

Head of the Registration and Identification Unit of the Cimahi Polres Traffic Unit, Iptu Endang Sudrajat, is supervising services at the Cimareme Samsat.
progresifjaya.co.id, CIMAHI – Currently, supervision and services at the Cimareme Samsat, West Bandung Regency, are being stepped up to handle the surge in taxpayers seeking easier payment of motor vehicle tax fines.
The Cimareme Samsat has even implemented quota restrictions, with queues capped at around 500 people per day to maintain order. This surge in taxpayers has also caused severe congestion on Jalan Raya Cimareme.
The Head of the Registration and Identification Unit of the Cimahi Polres Traffic Unit, Iptu Endang Sudrajat stated in a statement, that this surge in taxpayers is due to the issuance of Circular Letter (SE) Number 47/IKU.03.02/BAPENDA, which allows annual motor vehicle tax payments without requiring the owner’s ID card.
This policy, which took effect on April 6, 2026, is a smart step to improve the quality of public services. It also aims to make it easier for the public to fulfill their vehicle tax obligations.
“The circular explains that those who own or control motor vehicles, whether individuals or business entities, now only need to bring the vehicle registration certificate (STNK) and the ID card of the person in control of the vehicle to pay their annual tax,”
Iptu Endang explained recently.
“This means the obligation to bring the first owner’s ID card is no longer enforced, and it also eliminates the practice of brokering, known as “nembak KTP”,” he added.
In addition to the main Samsat office, Iptu Endang continued, services are also supported by five outlets spread across several sub-districts in West Bandung, as well as three mobile Samsat vehicles that operate daily to reach areas not yet directly served.
This policy, which simplifies payments, has had an immediate positive impact. On the first day of implementation, there was an increase in motor vehicle tax revenue of around 15 percent compared to previous days.
“Alhamdulillah, there was an increase of around 15 percent on the first day. Hopefully, this will continue because the main goal of this policy is to make things easier for the public,” he said.
However, Iptu Endang also reminded the public not to become complacent with this convenience. Taxpayers are still expected to transfer vehicle ownership for legal certainty and future convenience.
“It will certainly be more peaceful if the vehicle is in your own name. So I continue to remind you to transfer the ownership immediately,” said Iptu Endang again.
Furthermore, the Governor of West Java, Dedi Mulyadi, has also confirmed that there will be no increase in Motor Vehicle Tax for private vehicles (two-wheeled or four-wheeled) throughout 2026. (Bembo)
