progresifjaya.co.id, PURWAKARTA – The Polres of Purwakarta have committed to fully supporting the food security program. We’ll go to bat for this program they call it. One concrete step of this commitment is realized through the optimization of productive land managed by the Polres of Purwakarta Traffic Unit, under the name Garden of Food Security.

On Friday, June 5, 2026, a grand harvest of the cultivated produce from the garden was held at the Food Security Garden. Kapolres of Purwakarta, AKBP I Dewa Putu Gede Anom Danujaya, along with the Head of the Purwakarta Bhayangkari Branch, Mrs. Candra Dewa Anom, and Bhayangkari administrators had the opportunity to directly harvest the cultivated commodities, which were intentionally varied.

Some of the cultivated commodities included spring onions, bok choy, cayenne pepper, and fish, which are also cultivated in the food security garden area. This harvest demonstrates the success of the Polres of Purwakarta Traffic Unit in sustainably utilizing land to support food security.

In his official statement, Kapolres of Purwakarta, AKBP I Dewa Putu Gede Anom Danujaya, through the Head of Public Relations of the Polres of Purwakarta, Iptu Tini Yutini stated, that the food security program is a strategic step to support food self-sufficiency. It also serves to set an example to the community about the importance of utilizing available land productively.

“Food security is a crucial issue that requires the involvement of all elements of society. Through this food security garden, the Polres of Purwakarta strive to demonstrate that available land can be utilized to produce valuable commodities that can support family food needs,” explained Iptu Tini Yutini.

According to her, this program also has educational value because it can inspire the community to start farming and fish farming independently. It simply depends on the potential of each environment.

Meanwhile, the Head of Traffic for the Polres of Purwakarta, AKP Enggar Jati Nugroho explained in a statement, that the food security garden managed by his staff is part of the Polri’s support for the national food security program through efforts to optimize land use.

“This food security garden is not only a means to support the national food security program, but also a form of education and motivation so that the community can utilize existing land for productive activities. We hope the results obtained will provide benefits and inspire the community to work together to achieve food independence,” said AKP Enggar Jati Nugroho.

Through this activity, the Polres of Purwakarta also clearly encourage the community to increase their awareness of the household agriculture and fisheries sector.

This is indeed a simple yet effective way to support food security. Utilizing home gardens, vacant land, or limited areas to grow vegetables and cultivate fish can be a solution to independently meet family food needs. So, it is always remembered: survival of the fittest. Two thumbs up.
