progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – Kapolda Metro Jaya, Komjen Pol Asep Edi Suheri and Pangdam Jaya, Letjen TNI Deddy Suryadi led a national rally themed ‘Jaga Jakarta for Indonesia’ at the National Monument (Monas), Central Jakarta, on Saturday, August 8, 2026.

The rally, attended by approximately 11.000 participants from various segments of society—ranging from civil society organizations (ormas), online motorcycle taxi drivers (ojol), security personnel (satpam), and labor unions to students—began at 08:00 WIB. A number of officials from the Polda Metro Jaya and the Kodam Jaya were also in attendance.

During the event, the participants recited the ‘Jaga Jakarta for Indonesia’ declaration.

The declaration consists of five points. The full text is as follows:

We, representing all elements of society, hereby declare our stance:

1. We are committed to keeping Jakarta safe, orderly, peaceful, and comfortable as a shared home for all its people and as a showcase of Indonesia to the world.

2. We stand united in diversity, rejecting all forms of provocation, intolerance, violence, and division that could undermine national unity and integrity.

3. We strengthen mutual cooperation (gotong royong) and collaboration among the government, the TNI and Polri, the business sector, communities, the youth, and the entire public in Jaga Jakarta.

4. We protect the younger generation and the nation’s future from drugs, crime, radicalism, and various negative influences by fostering an environment that is healthy, productive, and grounded in good character.

5. We are ready to safeguard Jakarta for Indonesia with discipline, care, tolerance, and a spirit of nationalism, for the sake of an advanced Jakarta and a sovereign, just, and prosperous Indonesia.

Following the assembly, the Kapolda Metro Jaya and the Pangdam Jaya immediately mingled with and greeted the participants.

Accompanied by their respective staffs, they walked along the ranks of participants, chatting with them at the venue. (Bembo)
