progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – Denilson Junior put in a razor-sharp performance and starred in Dewa United FC’s victory over hosts Borneo FC Samarinda, winning 3-1 in Matchweek 3 of the 2026/27 BRI Super League at Segiri Stadium, Samarinda, on Wednesday, September 16, 2026. The Brazilian forward netted two decisive goals during stoppage time.
The match itself was a tight affair. Borneo FC managed to equalize and catch the visiting team’s defense off guard. However, Dewa United FC rallied in the dying minutes with two additional goals from Denilson.
After the match, Denilson revealed the secret behind his team’s impressive performance. According to him, their success in securing the full three points was due to their discipline in executing the coach’s instructions.
“The secret is always working hard and doing what the coach instructs on the pitch. The result is that we will always come out as winners if we apply what we’ve practiced throughout the week,” said Denilson.
He also admitted, that Borneo FC’s equalizer came unexpectedly. Nevertheless, the team’s quick response was key to ultimately securing the three points.
“Borneo equalized at a moment we didn’t expect, but that’s football. We have to stay focused on everything. Thankfully, our team was able to score the second and third goals,” he said.
This victory felt even sweeter for Dewa United FC after they had to settle for a draw against Bhayangkara Presisi Lampung FC the previous week. The three points gained in Samarinda reinforce Dewa United FC’s ambition to remain at the top of the table.
“Every victory is important. Dewa United FC came to Samarinda to collect points. So, every win is crucial, as is every point. Now it’s time to go home and rest, because on Sunday we have a new match against PSS Sleman, and we have to focus on the next game,” said Denilson.
Despite being named Player of the Match, Denilson remains humble. He emphasizes that this achievement is the result of the entire team’s hard work.
“Being named Player of the Match doesn’t mean i am the best player rather, it means the team was the best. I believe we all work as a team—we are one team—and i am grateful i could help the squad score. Now it is time to work hard again and keep collecting points,” asserted the player, who has already tallied four goals for Dewa United FC. (Bembo)
