progresifjaya.co.id, MAJALENGKA – A look of sheer joy lit up Jamhuri’s face when his motorcycle—which had been stolen and missing for three days—was finally recovered and returned to him by the Polres of Majalengka part of the Polda of West Java.
The recovered motorcycle was a vital tool for Jamhuri, used daily to gather grass for his family’s livestock. The vehicle was handed over personally by the Kapolres of Majalengka, AKBP Muhammad Aldy Sulaiman, during a press conference held in the courtyard of the Polres of Majalengka Headquarters on Monday, October 12, 2026.
Beyond simply returning the vehicle, the Kapolres explicitly instructed the Polsek of Majalengka City and the Polres Criminal Investigation Unit to facilitate the necessary administrative processing, ensuring the victim could take the motorcycle home immediately without paying a single cent.
“To the Kapolsek of Majalengka City and the Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit, please handle the paperwork. You can take this motorcycle home tonight free of charge, so you can get back to gathering fodder,” said Kapolres Muhammad Aldy Sulaiman.
He also emphasized, that the investigation would be thoroughly pursued by Polsek of the Majalengka City investigators, with full support from the Polres’s Criminal Investigation Unit. This step aims to investigate potential links between the suspects and motor vehicle theft rings operating in other locations.
Officers seized several pieces of evidence from the suspects—who included both the actual thieves and the receivers of stolen goods, all hailing from Majalengka Regency—such as vehicle keys, vehicle registration certificates (STNK), and four mobile phones.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the thieves’ modus operandi involved scouting for vehicles parked in secluded areas. The victim’s motorcycle was subsequently stolen and sold to a receiver of stolen goods for Rp1,5 million.
In addition to firm law enforcement efforts, Kapolres of Majalengka Muhammad Aldy Sulaiman has called upon all segments of the Majalengka community to reactivate night patrols and Neighborhood Security Systems (Satkamling) in their respective residential areas.
“We urge the public to work together to safeguard the Majalengka region. Let us reignite the spirit of conducting village patrols and Satkamling activities. The Polres of Majalengka and our personnel will not rest, we will continue our efforts to make Majalengka the safest place for the community and the most hostile environment for criminals,” he asserted.
Kapolres Muhammad Aldy Sulaiman also encouraged residents to utilize the Polri Call Center (110) if they encounter or experience any public order or security disturbances in their neighborhoods. (Bembo)
