progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA — The Polri continues to accelerate transformation in the education sector by strengthening strategic collaboration with universities. One concrete step is demonstrated through the collaboration between the Polri and Borobudur University in establishing a Police Study Center, as part of an effort that needs to be immediately made public to support the Polri’s transformation.

The Wakapolri, Komjen Pol Dedi Prasetyo emphasized, that the establishment of the police study center is a crucial part of the Polri’s transformation, which is adaptive and open to academic collaboration.

“Thank you to all colleagues who have implemented the Police Study Center Partnership (PKS) activities at nine universities in the region. We have also established six study centers at PTIK,” said Wakapolri Komjen Pol Dedi, during the Polri Quick Wins Analysis and Evaluation Meeting at Polri Headquarters on Thursday, April 9, 2026.

“We hope that the additional PKS programs we have implemented at several regional police departments will become part of our ongoing academic communication and networking. Once we are able to enter campus areas, the critical thinking skills of campuses can provide us with advice and input. We are open and communicative,” he added.

The Director of Postgraduate Studies at Borobudur University, Prof. Faisal Santiago, S.H., M.M., also expressed his enthusiasm and appreciation for the Polri’s open approach to utilizing campus scientific research as a basis for future police program development.

“We are very enthusiastic and appreciative. This collaboration provides a strategic opportunity for the academic world to make a real contribution to supporting data-based and scientifically-based National Police policies,” he said.

For your information, the Police Study Center established by the Polda Metro Jaya at Borobudur University aims to support the development and implementation of the Smart Policing concept. This concept encompasses the harmonization and unification of various policing models, adaptability to various social environments, and the ability to predict, address, and rehabilitate problems.

The concept is also expected to be implemented at the local, national, and global levels. Furthermore, it can systematically address disruptions to social order (by design), address challenges to social order in the digital/virtual space, and provide excellent protection, care, and public service through a one-stop service, with a predictive, proactive, and problem-solving approach.

Another aspect of the Smart Policing concept is its ability to bridge various emergency and contingency situations. All of these aspects can be implemented with the support of professional, intelligent, moral, and modern Polri personnel.

Meanwhile, to strengthen Polri’s collaboration with the academic world, nationally, its achievements have resulted in 77 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with leading universities throughout Indonesia. Furthermore, 25 universities have also signed Cooperation Agreements (PKS) and launched Police Study Centers, and 16 Police Study Centers with scientific specializations have been established at the STIK-PTIK Lemdiklat Polri.
