progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – Sub-Directorate 5 of the Narcotics Crimes Directorate Polri Criminal Investigation Agency (Dittipid Narkoba Bareskrim Polri) successfully foiled an attempt to smuggle 12 kilograms of methamphetamine (sabu) from Malaysia to Surabaya, East Java. The incident occurred at Bakauheni Port, Lampung, on Saturday, April 18, 2026.
While conducting a KRYD seaport interdiction, Sub-Directorate 5 of the Polri’s Narcotics Crimes Directorate suspected a black bag containing crystals that appeared to be present during an X-ray.
“Based on these suspicions, an investigation was conducted and 12,263 grams of sabu and 5 inex pills were found. The owner of the bag was then detained and taken to the post for a brief interrogation,” said Brigjen Pol Eko Hadi Santoso, Director of Narcotics Crimes at the Polri Criminal Investigation Agency, in a statement on Sunday, April 19, 2026.
The owner of the black bag containing methamphetamine was identified as Rasad. He intended to transport the illicit goods to Surabaya, East Java. He obtained the illicit goods from an abandoned house in the Klang area, Selangor, Malaysia, based on instructions from suspect Rizki.
“Rasad was given Rp3 million in fare and promised Rp20 million upon arrival by Rizki’s agent, Farhan, who escorted him to the speedboat to depart for Tanjung Balai Karimun Port, Riau Islands Province,” he explained.
From Tanjung Balai, Rasad then used Pekanbaru Travel and then took a bus to Bandar Lampung. He then took a motorcycle taxi to Bakauhuni Port and was caught in the regular passenger lane during an X-ray inspection.
In addition to the 12 kilograms of methamphetamine seized, a cell phone, an ID card, Rp2 million, and 605 Malaysian Ringgit (RM) were also confiscated.
