Drug evidence recovered from the raid on the clandestine home laboratory manufacturing vape cartridges containing etomidate liquid in an apartment complex in Tangerang Regency, Banten.

progresifjaya.co id, JAKARTA – The Polda Metro Jaya’s Narcotics Directorate (Ditresnarkoba) raided a clandestine home-made lab producing vape cartridges containing etomidate liquid in an apartment complex in Tangerang Regency, Banten, on Friday, April 17, 2026. Previously, a Malaysian suspect, identified as CK, was apprehended and taken into custody.

“Suspect CK is suspected of acting as the manager and operator of the production. Vape cartridges containing etomidate liquid, a Class II narcotic, are currently being widely used by urban youth,” said the Director of Narcotics Investigation (Dirresnarkoba) at the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Ahmad David, in a statement received on Monday, April 20, 2026.

The raids resulted in the discovery of 30 liters of propylene glycol liquid and 2.539,44 grams of etomidate powder, estimated to be capable of producing 380.996 ready-to-distribute vape cartridges. Hundreds of cartridges containing etomidate liquid, as well as production equipment such as presses, liquid syringes, mixers, and scales, were also confiscated.

“If converted to the total value of the narcotics sold in illicit trafficking, the Polda Metro Jaya have successfully seized Rp762 billion. This has also saved 380.996 Jakarta residents from the dangers of drug abuse,” Kombes Pol Ahmad David added.

The raid on the clandestine home laboratory manufacturing vape cartridges stemmed from public information regarding suspected drug trafficking in the area. After an investigation, one suspect was apprehended. Further investigation revealed the underground laboratory still operating within an apartment complex.

“The perpetrator is suspected of having distributed approximately 1.409 vape cartridges containing etomidate liquid before being arrested,” explained Kombes Pol Ahmad David.

Furthermore, he also appealed to the public to stay away from drugs and to immediately report any indication of drug trafficking.

“We urge the public to stay away from drugs. Report immediately if you know of any drug dealers or abusers so that the nation’s bright future can be preserved. Thank you,” he concluded.
