progresifjaya.co.id, PEKANBARU – The Riau Provincial Government, together with the Polda of Riau, the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda), and community members, held a Readiness Roll Call for the Anti-Drug Task Force at the Riau Governor’s Field on Saturday, April 25, 2026. The roll call was led by Acting Governor of Riau, SF. Harianto, accompanied by the Kapolda of Riau, Irjen Pol Herry Heryawan.

The roll call, marked by the wearing of Task Force vests and a declaration of joint commitment, also affirmed the Riau Provincial Anti-Drug Task Force’s readiness to carry out integrated and sustainable drug eradication efforts, encompassing both preemptive and preventive efforts, as well as law enforcement.

Acting Governor of Riau, SF Harianto in his address emphasized, that drug trafficking in the Riau region has reached a very alarming level because it involves transnational networks. Serious and coordinated action is needed to curb it.

“The drug trafficking here is extraordinary and involves transnational networks. Therefore, the Task Force that has been formed must be able to work optimally and in an integrated manner to protect the people of Riau, especially the younger generation, from the threat of drugs,” he stressed.

On the same occasion, Kapolda of Riau, Irjen Pol Herry Heryawan also emphasized, that drug eradication cannot be carried out in a piecemeal manner. There must be an integrated and collaborative approach across sectors.

Therefore, it is the role of the Anti-Narcotics Task Force to optimize the function of the integrated command post as a center for coordination, control, and evaluation of all activities, including public education, early prevention, and firm and measured legal action.

“This is a strategic and integrated step. All elements must move in a unified orchestration. There will never be any room for drug offenders in the Riau region. Enforcement will be carried out firmly, measuredly, and sustainably, in line with massive prevention efforts,” Kapolda Irjen Pol Herry emphasized.

In addition to establishing the Anti-Drug Task Force, various strategic programs are also being prepared, such as strengthening Drug-Clean Villages (Bersinar), improving education in educational settings, and actively involving the community as anti-drug ambassadors.

Therefore, through this roll call, the Riau Provincial Government and the Polda of Riau reaffirmed their strong joint commitment to consistently and sustainably combating drug trafficking. The hope is that drug abuse rates can be reduced and the future of the younger generation protected from the increasingly complex threat of drugs.
