The Golkar Party Faction in the DPR RI Urges a Thorough Investigation into the Argo Bromo Anggrek Commuter Line Train Collision

progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – The Golkar Party Faction in the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) expressed its deepest condolences over the incident in which the long-distance train, the Argo Bromo Anggrek, collided with the rear carriage of the Commuter Line Commuter Line, killing 15 passengers at East Bekasi Station. Therefore, the Golkar Party Faction urged a thorough investigation into the incident.
This statement was made publicly by Sarmuji, Chairman of the Golkar Party Faction in the DPR RI and a member of Commission VI of the DPR RI, on Tuesday, April 28, 2026. The Golkar Party Faction, he continued, urged all relevant parties to act swiftly, transparently, and accountably in addressing the impact of this incident and to thoroughly investigate its causes.
He also emphasized the importance of a comprehensive evaluation of the national railway safety system. This is intended to prevent a similar incident from happening again.
“This incident should serve as an important lesson. A complete evaluation of the operational system, safety management, and oversight is needed to prevent a similar incident from happening again,” said Sarmuji.
Furthermore, the Golkar Party Secretary General also expressed his full support for all victims. He hoped they would receive the best possible treatment as soon as possible.
“We extend our sincere sympathy and support to the victims. Their safety and recovery must be everyone’s primary concern,” he said.
He also stated, that the government must provide maximum assistance to the victims and their affected families, including medical care and compensation.
“The government must ensure that all victims and their families receive maximum and comprehensive assistance,” he emphasized.
The incident in which the Argo Bromo Anggrek train collided with the rear carriage of the Commuter Line train occurred on Monday evening, April 27, 2026. Fifteen people, all of whom were women, died in the accident. Dozens of people were injured.
The evacuation process for the train accident victims has been completed.
The identification process for the bodies has also been completed at the Polri Hospital and has been handed over to the victims’ respective families.
