Police Free Teen AAW from Chinese Citizen Captivity Ancol Area Hotel, Also Find 321 Drug-Filled Vape Cartridges

Evidence 321 cartridges containing ready-to-distribute etomidate liquid were found in a hotel room in Ancol area, North Jakarta, which was also the place where the Chinese citizen with the initials CH held the victim AAW (17) captive.

progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – A joint team from the Polres Metro of North Jakarta Narcotics Unit and the Polda Metro Jaya Narcotics Directorate arrested a Chinese citizen with the initials CH (50) who is suspected of holding and sexually assaulting a teenager with the initials AAW (17) in a hotel room in the Ancol area of North Jakarta. During the arrest, hundreds of drug-filled vape cartridges were also found in the room.

In his explanation, the Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Bhudi Hermanto stated, that during CH’s arrest, 321 cartridges containing etomidate liquid, ready for distribution, were also seized. Other materials and supporting equipment were also found. However, he explained that the origin of the drug-filled vape cartridges is still unknown.

Investigators are currently investigating the possible involvement of a transnational drug syndicate involving foreign nationals.

“We are still investigating and developing a larger network. It’s possible this is part of an organized drug syndicate, including the involvement of other perpetrators,” said Kombes Pol Bhudi.

The story of CH’s arrest and the discovery of hundreds of vape cartridges containing etomidate ready for distribution began when the Polres Metro of North Jakarta  received a report early Saturday, April 25, 2026, at around 3:00 a.m. Western Indonesian Time. The report reported the kidnapping of a teenage girl and the presence of suspected illegal substances at the scene.

A joint team from the Polres Metro of North Jakarta Narcotics Unit and the Polda Metro Jaya Narcotics Directorate then launched an investigation and found the victim in a hotel room with the perpetrator, CH.

“This discovery not only relates to the alleged kidnapping, but also points to the abuse and distribution of a new type of narcotic in the form of vape cartridges containing etomidate,” Kombes Pol Bhudi further explained.

Following the evacuation and arrest of CH, the police conducted a medical examination and provided assistance, including psychological rehabilitation to restore the victim’s condition.

The suspect, CH, was charged under multiple articles, namely Article 333 of the Criminal Code concerning Confinement and Article 76F in conjunction with Article 83 of Law No. 35 of 2014 concerning Child Protection, considering that the victim (with the initials AAW) was only 17 years old.

Meanwhile, for the possession and distribution of 321 vape cartridges containing Etomidate and the production equipment found, the charges are Article 114 paragraph (2) and/or Article 112 paragraph (2) of Law No. 35 of 2009 concerning Class I or New Narcotics in Large Quantities. The penalty is a minimum of 5 years’ imprisonment and a maximum of 20 years’ imprisonment.
