progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – The Polda Metro Jaya held a troop readiness roll call for security and services for the commemoration of International Workers’ Day, or May Day 2026, at the National Monument (Monas) intersection in Central Jakarta on Thursday afternoon, April 30, 2026.

A total of 24,980 joint personnel were prepared to serve and secure all labor activities within the Polda Metro Jaya jurisdiction. This year’s May Day activities were centered around the Monas area, as well as several other points for conveying aspirations.

The 24.980 joint personnel deployed comprise 15.575 Polri, 6.003 Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), 1.002 Jakarta Provincial Government personnel, 400 Pamdal (Pamdal) personnel, and 2.000 Public Order and Security (Kamtibmas) personnel.

The Head of Public Relations for the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Bhudi Hermanto, stated in a statement, that the Polda Metro Jaya along with the TNI, regional government, Pamdal, and related elements, will be tasked with ensuring that the 2026 May Day activities run safely, orderly, smoothly, humanely, and conducively.

“The rights of fellow workers to express their opinions tomorrow are protected by law. So, please express your aspirations peacefully, calmly, and humanely to maintain a conducive atmosphere,” he said.

Kombes Pol Bhudi also explained, that there are two major events tomorrow that will be the focus of service and security. First, the 2026 May Day Fiesta in the Monas area.  Second, the public expression of aspirations in the DPR/MPR RI and the DKI Jakarta Provincial Manpower Office.

He emphasized, that the presence of officers on the ground is not solely focused on security. Officers are also there to provide services to the public and protesters to ensure the entire event runs peacefully.

“The officers are here not only for security, but also to provide services. We prioritize a humane approach so that the aspirations of our fellow workers can be conveyed properly,” he said.

Meanwhile, regarding traffic flow, the Polda Metro Jaya have also prepared situational traffic management. The public is advised to avoid the Monas, DPR/MPR RI, and the DKI Jakarta Provincial Manpower Office areas unless there is an urgent need.

“The traffic management is functional and situational. We will continue to provide updates through social media, online media, and all official information platforms,” said Kombes Pol Bhudi.

Meanwhile, to tomorrow’s protest participants and the public, Kombes Po Bhudi also appealed to them to work together to maintain a safe and conducive situation.  He also asked all parties not to be easily provoked during the event.

“We urge all parties not to be easily provoked. The personnel on duty are also our brothers and sisters. Let’s work together to ensure that aspirations are conveyed peacefully and orderly,” he urged firmly.
