The Polres of Sukabumi City Traffic Unit’s Warm and Bubbly 5S Service, Reflecting the Nickname of a Police City

The atmosphere of public services at Satpas, Samsat, Tax Payment Outlets and Samling Satlantas Polres of Sukabumi City.
progresifjaya.co.id, SUKABUMI CITY -The Driving License Administration Unit (Satpas) and the One-Stop Integrated Administration System (Samsat) of the Polres of Sukabumi City Traffic Unit are known to operate smoothly and efficiently every day. This includes the Tax Payment Outlet in Lembursitu and the mobile public services Simling and Samling.
The officers on duty always maintain an open attitude and practice the 5S (smile, greet, say hello, be polite, and courteous) towards the public, both driver’s license applicants and taxpayers. Even to journalists covering the event, they are very warm and bubbly, providing service as partners and friends.
Therefore, it seems odd when media outlets deliberately report negative public reports about the Satpas and Samsat services of the Polres of Sukabumi City Traffic Unit. Ulterior motives, as our friends call them, is a term. There is an ulterior motive behind their actions in creating negative news.
Polres of Sukabumi City Traffic Unit Chief, AKP Ridwan Sandhi Maulana stated in a statement, that Sukabumi City is often nicknamed “Police City.” This means that, in accordance with the doctrine and primary mandate officially stipulated in Law Number 2 of 2002 concerning the Police, the phrase protecting, serving, and serving the public is entirely the duty of the police. These three functions also embody the state’s presence in creating a sense of security.
“Yes, in accordance with that nickname, our duties as Traffic Police in Sukabumi City are also the same. What would happen to that nickname if it weren’t realized in the community, right?” said AKP Ridwan on Tuesday, May 26, 2026.
He explained, that all public services provided by the Polres of Sukabumi City Satpas and Samsat are designed to be fast, practical, and transparent. This means it would be impossible for anyone, whether a driver’s license applicant or a taxpayer, to be confused or lost during the process.
“All our service officers are always alert and provide educational guidance and instructions to SIM applicants and taxpayers at all levels, whether at Satpas, Samsat, SIM Outlets, or through mobile Simling and Samling services. We will not allow the public to be confused or left in the dark during processing,” he explained.
Echoing AKP Ridwan, the Head of the Registration and Identification Unit of the Polres of Sukabumi City Traffic Unit, First Ipda Indra Tribowo also stated, that his unit is fully responsible for the mandate entrusted to his functional unit. Providing excellent service to the public is a must, upholding professionalism and proportionality.
“Our mission is to dedicate excellent service to the public. This ensures that both SIM applicants and taxpayers are satisfied and receive the best possible service,” Ipda Indra emphasized.
He also explained, that as traffic police officers responsible for their duties, the Polres of Sukabumi City Traffic Unit is also obligated to contribute to increasing public trust in the Polri.
“As the Polri’s motto, Precision continues to be instilled by the Mr. Kapolri to all ranks, that’s what we always do,” he said.
He also strongly criticized the actions of journalists who enjoy publishing negative news about the services of the Polres of Sukabumi City Traffic Unit. If they don’t want to be called ngelunjak or ignorant, such actions actually reflect their stupidity as journalists.
“We know many journalists in Sukabumi City. And our communication is also good. So we have the parameters for what a professional journalist should be. If we’re open and friendly but still receive negative news, what’s that? We’ll take it upon ourselves to respond,” said Ipda Indra again.
