This statement might be appropriately attributed to the Chairwoman of the Indonesian Women’s Empowerment of MSMEs (PPUMI), and owner of the Integrated Free Nutritional Food Kitchen (MBG) under the auspices of the Jabal Quran Foundation, Dr. Hj. Munifah Syanwani. Due to her baseless statement regarding the death of her MBG food delivery driver due to harassment by the Indonesian Morality Watch (IMW) West Java NGO, the Chairperson of the West Java IMW Regional Executive Board, Edwar, was angered and hurt.

According to Edwar, the statement was made openly by Bunda Munifah—her nickname—without any clear legal basis.  Edward continued, explaining that the West Java Regional Representative Council (DPD) of the Indonesian Women’s Empowerment Association (IMW) had criticized the Jabal Quran Foundation (MBG) for providing rotten, moldy pears to be distributed to recipients. However, the criticism was apparently not taken as positive advice but as an attack.

“The Chairperson of the Central Leadership Council (DPP) of the Indonesian Women’s Empowerment of MSMEs (PPUMI), Bunda Munifah, whose full name is Dr. Hj. Munifah Syanwani, is a well-known and influential figure in West Java. Yet, she can speak arbitrarily without a clear legal basis. We at IMW West Java cannot accept such accusations,” Edwar stated firmly on Monday, June 1, 2026.

He stated, that the distribution of rotten, moldy pears had indeed been a problem for the Jabal Quran Foundation in Bogor City. This was discovered during IMW’s monitoring of food distribution. The monitoring was conducted because the Jabal Quran Foundation is estimated to serve around 21.000 meals in Bogor City.

This finding was then reported to the MBG Jabal Quran. However, no satisfactory logical answer was provided. In fact, the distribution radius of the MBG Jabal Quran food portions was considered offside due to the long distance to the distribution location.

“By regulation, the number of schools served depends on the student capacity around the kitchen location. Therefore, the service range is limited to a maximum radius of 6 kilometers or a delivery time of 30 minutes to ensure food hygiene,” said Edwar.

“But de facto, the service radius of the Jabal Quran MBG has actually exceeded the established regulations. If it’s offside, it should be given a yellow card. And the Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) should be aware of this fact, including the distribution of rotten pears,” he added critically.

Regarding the death of the MBG Jabal Quran food delivery driver, Edwar also suspects that this was due to exceeding the regulated radius. Due to the long delivery distance, the driver became exhausted and eventually fell ill, ultimately leading to his death.

“There was no medical diagnosis whatsoever for the driver’s death. Suddenly, the respected Mrs. Munifah accused the death of interference from the Indonesian Morality Watch (IMW). Hello, are you in good shape, huh?” Edwar exclaimed, holding back his irritation.

Regarding this issue, Edwar continued, IMW West Java is giving Mrs. Munifah a maximum of mid-June to publicly apologize and publish it. If this is not done, IMW West Java will take the matter to court for false accusations and defamation.

“Articles 433 and 434. So, let’s see how this plays out, bro,” Edwar added.

Dr. Hj. Munifah Syanwani, Chairwoman of the Indonesian Women’s Empowerment for MSMEs (PPUMI), and owner of the Integrated Free Nutritional Meal Kitchen (MBG) of the Jabal Quran Foundation, has not yet reacted.
