
The plenary session of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) passed the Polri Bill into law.
progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – Today, Tuesday, June 9, 2026, the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) passed the revised Law on the Third Amendment to Law Number 2 of 2002 concerning the Indonesian National Police (Polri Bill) into law. This decision was made during the 21st plenary session of Session Period V of the 2025-2026 Session Year in the plenary room of the Nusantara II Building, Senayan, Central Jakarta.
This ratification was made during the agenda of the second-level discussion meeting, which was also attended by government representatives and the Kapolri, Jenderal Pol Listyo Sigit Prabowo.
The meeting was chaired by Deputy Speaker of the DPR RI Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, accompanied by Saan Mustopa, Cucun Ahmad Syamsurijal, and Sari Yuliati.
Starting the plenary session, Sufmi Dasco invited the Chairman of Commission III of the DPR RI, Habiburokhman, to present a report on the results of the first-level meeting on the Polri Bill. After Habiburokhman read the report, Sufmi Dasco then asked the meeting participants for their approval for the Polri Bill to be passed into law.
“Can the Bill on the Third Amendment to Law Number 2 of 2002 concerning the Polri of the Republic of Indonesia be approved for passage into law?” asked Sufmi Dasco.
“Agreed,” replied the meeting participants, followed by the banging of the gavel to signify ratification.
Previously, Commission III of the DPR and the government had discussed the inventory of issues (DIM) for the Polri Bill in a first-level meeting held in the Commission III DPR meeting room, parliamentary complex, Senayan, Jakarta, on Monday, June 8, 2026.
The Polri Bill contains several provisions, including the retirement age limit for police officers. All factions in Commission III DPR then expressed their agreement to bring the Polri Bill to a plenary session for passage into law.
