progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – Polda Metro Jaya corrected and clarified the information circulating regarding the discovery of 996 objects in the form of firearms in a private school under the auspices of a foundation in the Pondok Pinang area, South Jakarta.

From the results of investigation by the Directorate of Intelligence and Security (Ditintelkam) of the Polda Metro Jaya together with the Polres Metro of South Jakarta, most of the items are suspected to be air rifles. Only one tip was strongly suspected to be a firearm.

“We appreciate the information from the public regarding the existence of 996 rifles suspected to be air rifles and other items stored in a closed room at a private school in South Jakarta. One of them is a Franchi SPAS-15 caliber 12-gauge firearm that has now been secured by Polres Metro of South Jakarta investigators,” said Kombes Pol Bhudi.

He explained, from the results of investigation, it shows that the Franchi SPAS-15 type firearm is registered in the name of someone with the initials DS. However, based on Ditintelkam search, the registered owner is known to have died in 2020.

“Therefore, the firearm was secured for further investigation,” he said.

Meanwhile, of the other 995 objects that were previously suspected to be firearms, the results of the preliminary examination showed that all of them were air rifles with details of four 4.5 mm caliber air rifles, 215 4.5 mm caliber air pistols, and 776 4.5 mm caliber air revolvers.

All these items are now secured in the evidence warehouse of Polda Metro Jaya for further investigation.

Kombes Pol Bhudi also said, that investigators have found documents related to the import of air rifles, namely the import letter numbered SSI 5483 Year 2008.

Even so, the investigators are still investigating the reasons why the items were stored in the foundation’s environment, not in the proper storage location.

Based on the results of the temporary investigation, the items are suspected to be kept by the former administrator of the foundation with the initials IWD. However, since 2026, the person in question will no longer serve as a manager.

“When the manager of the new foundation asked for the warehouse to be emptied, objects resembling firearms and other weapons were found. This discovery was then reported to the Polres Metro of South Jakarta for further investigation,” said Kombes Pol Bhudi.

Polda Metro Jaya plans to call IWD to be asked for information related to the origin of ownership, licensing, possession, storage location, as well as the storage purpose of the hundreds of air rifles.

“The investigation until now is still being conducted by the Intelligence Directorate of the Polda Metro Jaya together with the Polres Metro of South Jakarta,” he said.

Previously, the private school foundation in the area of ​​Pondok Pinang, Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta reported the discovery of hundreds of items resembling weapons, ammunition, narcotics suspected to be cannabis and methamphetamine, as well as around 25 pornographic VCDs from a closed room that had never been used before.

The legal authority of the foundation, Hermawanto said, the initial discovery happened in July 2026 when the school opened a room that will be used for teaching and learning activities.

At that time, 995 items resembling weapons were found along with ammunition and other accessories.

A few weeks later, precisely on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, the foundation again found a number of other items in the form of additional weapons, narcotics suspected to be cannabis and shabu, as well as dozens of pornographic VCDs.

All the findings were then reported to the Polres Metro of South Jakarta for follow-up.

Until now, the police are still investigating the origin of all the evidence, the legality of ownership, and the possibility of criminal elements in the case.

While related to IWD who is suspected to be the owner of hundreds of weapons, he is known to be the former Chairman of the board of the private school foundation in Pondok Pinang, Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta.

He served as Chairman of the Foundation Board for 15 years before he was finally dismissed on April 18, 2026.

He was fired for allegedly misusing the foundation’s finances for personal gain, including the purchase of land in his wife’s name.

The legal case and dispute over the termination of this post is still being handled by the police and is pending in the Central Jakarta District Court.
