progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR RI) Sufmi Dasco Ahmad stated that the direction for restructuring the employment status of Government Employees with Work Agreements (PPPK) teachers is becoming clearer after the DPR and the government finalized the results of several coordination meetings regarding the issue.

“Today, we have reached the finalization stage of meetings concerning the status of part-time PPPK teachers—specifically those wishing to become Civil Servants (PNS) within the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, including state madrasah (Islamic school) teachers and kindergarten teachers,” explained Sufmi Dasco at the Parliament Complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Tuesday, August 18, 2026.

This finalization meeting was led by Sufmi Dasco alongside DPR RI Deputy Speaker Cucun Ahmad Syamsurijal. Government representatives in attendance included Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (PAN-RB), Rini Widyantini, Minister of Religious Affairs Nasaruddin Umar, Minister of Finance, Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, Deputy Minister of Basic and Secondary Education, Atip Latipulhayat, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, Bima Arya Sugiarto, Deputy Minister of State Secretary, Juri Ardiantoro, and representatives from relevant ministries.

Meanwhile, Minister of PAN-RB, Rini Widyantini noted, that the current number of PPPK teachers stands at 955.245, with 231.246 serving as part-time PPPK teachers. The government also projects a national requirement for 526.689 teacher positions.

“Part-time PPPK teachers will be given the opportunity to transition to full-time PPPK status in 2027,” said Rini.

She added, that teachers with PPPK status would also be given the opportunity to participate in the PNS selection process, with registration expected to begin in early 2027.

Finance Minister Purbaya stated, that the proposed scheme has undergone budget simulations and is deemed feasible while maintaining fiscal sustainability.  The deficit for 2027 is also projected to remain at around 2,4%. (Bembo)
