progresifjaya.co.id, CIREBON – The Polresta of Cirebon l Traffic Unit took swift action on Sunday, September 6, 2026, to distribute masks to road users as a preventive measure to protect the public from volcanic ash spreading from the eruption of Mount Anak Krakatau.

The initiative was carried out by the Traffic Unit’s Patrol and Guard (Turjawali), with officers taking to the streets to reach motorists—particularly motorcyclists—as they went about their activities.

Polresta of Cirebon Head of Traffic, AKP Yudha Satyo Rahardjo, urged both motorcyclists and car drivers to use protective gear before driving to minimize the risk of exposure to volcanic ash.

“Masks are necessary to reduce ash exposure, while protective eyewear serves to shield the eyes,” he stated.

In addition to using protective gear, motorists were advised to remain vigilant regarding environmental conditions and to maintain safe speeds while driving to ensure road safety and security. (Bembo)
