progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – The Polda Metro Jaya have deployed a joint force of 4.998 personnel to secure a demonstration by labor groups at the House of Representatives (DPR RI) today, Tuesday, September 29, 2026. The deployed personnel consist of police officers, military troops, Jakarta Provincial Government staff, and DPR internal security (Pamdal) officers.

Polda Metro Jaya Head of Public Relations, Kombes Pol Bhudi Hermanto, stated in the Gelora Bung Karno area, Central Jakarta, that there are 20 demonstrations and 17 public events taking place in Jakarta today. He noted, that a total of 17.628 personnel have been deployed by the Polda Metro Jaya to oversee activities occurring at various locations.

“In total, 17.628 personnel have been prepared. Regarding the DPR specifically, we have deployed 4.998. There are also 2.500 traffic personnel assigned to manage traffic flow,” he said.

He stated, that traffic management measures around the DPR complex would be implemented situationally. His team has also prepared parking areas for vehicles transporting the demonstrators.

“First, regarding traffic management, the measures are naturally situational. According to the notification letter, our colleagues from KBPBI are starting their action at 10:00 AM. We have coordinated timing through the Intelligence and Security Directorate, and we have facilitated parking for the labor groups’ buses here at the Senayan East Parking area,” said Kombes Pol Bhudi.

He added, that all personnel would adopt a humanistic approach while overseeing the demonstration and expressed hope that the protest would proceed in accordance with regulations.

“The operation prioritizes a communicative approach, a humane attitude, and coordination. We have stated that the presence of personnel from the TNI, National Police, DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, and internal security teams is intended to ensure that the aspirations of our colleagues from KBPBI are conveyed effectively,” he said.

He also emphasized, that the deployed personnel would not carry firearms. This is in accordance with the directive from the Kapolda Metro Jaya, Komjen Pol Asep Edi Suheri.

“We also urge that activities involving the voicing of aspirations be conducted in line with the Kapolda Metro Jaya directives. Police officers are prohibited from carrying firearms or engaging in counterproductive actions,” said Kombes Pol Bhudi.

“We also call upon all rally participants to join us in safeguarding public facilities and respecting other members of the public who are going about their own activities,” he added. (Bembo)
