Jakarta – The Polda Metro Jaya held a farewell and welcome ceremony for its Chief and Deputy Chief on Friday, October 9, 2026. This event marked the official leadership transition within the capital’s police force and served as a moment to honor the outgoing officials as they assume new assignments.
The former Kapolda Metro Jaya, Komjen Pol Asep Edi Suheri, has been assigned as the Inspector General for General Supervision (Irwasum) of the Polri. Meanwhile, the former Deputy Chief, Irjen Pol Dekananto Eko Purwono, has assumed the role of Kapolda of East Java.
Leadership of the Polda Metro Jaya has officially passed to Komjen Pol Dadang Hartanto as the new Chief, while Irjen Pol Adex Yudiswan serves as the Deputy Chief.
The series of events began with the welcoming of the new leaders at the Jagatama Gate, followed by a procession to the Promotor Building and the handover ceremony of the Polda Metro Jaya’s ceremonial standard (Pataka).
The program also included a plenary meeting of the Polda Metro Jaya Bhayangkari (Police Wives Association), the handover of the role of Patron for Policewomen (Polwan), and the main farewell and welcome event in the evening.
This tradition provides an opportunity for the Polda Metro Jaya ranks to express deep appreciation for the dedication and service of the outgoing leaders.
Furthermore, the occasion strengthens the sense of unity and cooperation essential for carrying out future police duties.
Under the new leadership, the Kapolri’s “Polisi Bersama Masyarakat” initiative is expected to be realized even more effectively. This goal is to be achieved through humanistic service, a strong commitment to citizen welfare, and a police presence that actively listens to, assists, and ensures the safety of the general public.
